How to remove lower ball joint?Pickle fork not big enough to break loose

Hi We do not have this vehicle here, need to know what type of suspension it has, more than likely it is a McPherson strut assembly, if it is the bottom ball joint will need to be released, I have found some very tight and have had to use both a portable hydraulic tool or the heavy duty pneumatic pickle fork with real good air pressure, one I had to warm the tapered eye boss area with a gas torch with the hydraulic tool at max. One other method is to leave the ball joint nut on loosely, heat the tapered eye area and with a very heavy duty brass drift and heavy hammer hit the side of the tapered eye assembly, this may pop the tapered ball joint bolt free. This is not at times an easy home workshop repair, you will need to be a very mechanical person, good luck. P.

Shifting gears wont go, it wont get in or fit right on the dot

? Que? Do you mean that it doesn't select or move freely? Gets too notchy maybe? Has this car done alot of miles? Or just a good lot of gear shifts? All Diahatsu and Yaris have horrible gear selections.. what you COULD do is strip down the gear shift, check the ball on the end of the shifter for scoring, put in a decent grease (into the ball reccess) or sometimes there is heavy wear on the metal part of the shifter, just above the ball, if so, weld back up or if no welder try chemical metal. This will also have the effect of a shorter gear change. ok?

3 little balls fell out of transmission, where do they go? chrysler sebring i took out the trans filter and a metal plate with alot of holes in it and 3 little metal balls fell out

You will have to get a transmission specialist to look at that metal plate and figure out where those three balls belong. I'm sure you didn't have to remove that control module plate to change the filter.Let a trained transmission person replace those parts or the transmission will not function properly.

Cant remove rear knuckle how can i acheive this? i cant get the upper balljoint to release the knuckle

use a ball joint fork,or hit the knuckle close around the ball joint stud,do not hit the ball joint,or the stud, knock the doo doo out of it with a heavy hammer, all around the stud of the ball joint,be sure to hit it several times,it will jar the ball joint loose.

My 2003 Sport trac needs lower ball joints but I cannot get the lower ball joint bolt to break free what do I do?

use heat, go get a torch and heat around the bolt (not the actual bolt) to expand the threads and break any rust. then when the metal that the bolt is stuck in is glowing a very dull red (dont melt your truck by turning the metal orange and white), turn the stuck bolt slowly, if it makes an obnoxious squeaking noise thats a good sign, just dont force it if it still doesnt want to turn, the bolt will be a little weaker than normal from the heat.

(make sure the area your heating is clear of flex hoses, plastic sensors, rubber CV boots, anything that can be damaged or blown up. keep a fire extinguisher near you, and a water bottle too (dont quench the glowing red metal with water, only use the water on things that can be damaged by the fire))

(one last thing, the grease inside the ball joint could heat up and expand, blowing the rubber off and spewing hot grease everywhere, so have some sort of a gaurd (plexiglass works best, but use cardboard as a minimum) and wear a welding mask (the flame can damage your eyes) and gloves)

Hope this helps and be safe!

Replace upper and lower ball joints on a 03 f350

You can rent the tool that pressess the ball joints out at the auto parts store. Looking at the new ones, Remove the lock rings from the old ones remove the cotterpins and then the nuts. The wheel and break have to be removed and out of the way then install the tool and press out the joints. This is a heavy job that takes musel and heavy tools and the parts are heavy. This job is almost always done by a pro. and his helper

Upper control arm bushing and upper Ball joint

dealer only or general mechanic to change these parts not really a do it yourself job .do you have a two ton jack ??? or the metal plates in floor to move the suspension to check it ---no take it to a garage trust me it will be cheaper and quicker in the end .you leave something loose or incorrectly fitted and with this heavy lump of detroit steel you could kill a lot of people .
