The electronic stability program (ESP) and the braking assist system (BAS) will both often store codes for the same issue.

Steering, suspension and stability issues often affect normal braking when a abnormal stability condition is present or briefly occurs, as will an abnormal braking condition that affects stability, causing both systems to through a code for the same condition... esp/bas lights go on.

It could be a issue with one or more wheels where a braking condition or stability error was stored as a result of a defective part(s), driver error (hitting curbs etc..), environmental factors such as poor road conditions, contacting debris, a wheel spinning due to loss of traction and so on. These error codes can be cleared by disconnecting the battery cables and touching both battery cables together for @ 10 sec. to remove stored codes. If it is a permanent defect with any associated stability or braking system component that is resulting in abnormal operation of these systems, the bas and/or esp light(s) will go on again.

Things to look for (esp) are; Tire inflation and tread wear, mismatched or wrong size tires, was vehicle in an accident?, did you drive with a space saver spare?, worn suspension parts, alignment, after market rims with or without spacers, (spacers can cause centrifugal throw-out affecting front suspension stability) etc...

There are some obvious brake issues such as badly worn brakes and/or rotors, fluid leaks etc... and my favorite, driving with the parking brake applied, lol. Brake systems require more information and knowledge to be able to properly diagnose the number of possible issues concerning defective components.

See a repair shop that does brakes. Be prepared to pay for a diagnostic fee to find problem.
That's an ABS light.

SOURCE: hi I have a 2006 300 Chrysler 300 limited My abs

I have looked over the book, the only thing I could find that affects both of these systems is the "Anti-lock brake module". Doesn't look to be to big of a job, however it appears that this will be a dealer purchased part. I do not guarantee that is the problem, if possible you may want to have your local auto parts store hook it up to an OBD2 reader, with electrical systems this should quickly pinpoint the problem. Be aware their are two different types of modules on these cars (one per car), if you decide to purchase this, ensure they give you the correct part.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: the esp bas light is

Hi, that light comes on when the abs computer detects a malfunction and sets a code. You may try removing battery cables and touching them together, if that does not work, you will definitely need to have the system tested with a scan tool.

SOURCE: esp warning light and bas on

Hi there:
The BAS/ESP lights pertain to your brake assist and electronic stability systems. One of the more common problems we find is a faulty stop light switch or a steering angle sensor. It would be a good idea to have the fault codes read. The codes would give you a pretty good idea as to what is going on. You could try to initialize the steering angle sensor first. This is normally needed after a dead or weak battery condition. To do this you'll need to start the car and then turn the wheel slowly all the way to the left, pause and then turn slowly all the way to the right, pause and return to center. You may need to do it a couple of times to initialize the sensor. The stop light switches are inexpensive and easily replaced. They're located under the dash at the brake pedal. When you get your new switch you'll see a little release tab on it. You just depress the tab and rotate the switch 90 degrees to remove it.

Before to replace some parts, I suggest scaned the computer car in order to know other fault codes stored.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

SOURCE: 2005 chrysler 300 esp bas light on and it make it loose power

Hi there:
There are several possible causes, such as a bad wheel speed sensor to a controller locking up. Try asking your dealer about many TSB or Repair Bulletins out for a computer software flashes.

Keep in mind that you will need visit to Chrysler and they can read the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the computer and tell exactly where is the problem.

Chrysler 300 esp bas light along with abs light

You'll need someone to check the body computer for trouble codes to know what to do next. You may find an auto parts store with the right code reader to access the body computer, but most readers only access the engine computer.
Once you have the codes a mechanic can check those codes to find the problem.
