Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: is it a big job

How hard it is to do is a relative question based on experience levels. It is not a complex job to perform. You will need to raise and support the motor while you're working on the mount enough to be able to achieve clearance to remove the old mount and put the new one into place.

How do I remove starter on a 2006 4.7 cylander jeep commander

Disconnect battery.
Unbolt starter, move it down a bit.
Now unbolt wires (two of them).
Now wiggle starter around and get it out. On 99-04 grand cherokee the front wheels need to be on ground (or on a ramp) or the drooping suspension gets in the way.

btw, if the PCM thinks (by any means) that SPARK is bad, it will in fact cut all fuel. (no crash and burn like on TV @!)
so spark is first. not fuel.

see why? and the engine cant use fuel if spark is dead.so 2 reasons.
this is a jeep Grand Cherokee, commander,
and what engine, they have many.
always post engine then ask questions.
no body does, but do. please.

if you are speaking of all the shift positions being surounded by brackets like [r] [n] [d] [l] than thats likely the problem the part can be cleaned its located beneath the shifter bezel or replace it the part is about 450 to 500 bucks but try the foorums i know ive seen a writeup with pictures there
