There are inner and outer tie rod ends. The outer are attached to the wheel spindles, and the inner are attached to the rack and pinion, or other linkage as in a truck. If you don't have the tools to do this job, it may be a good idea to let a mechanic do the job for you. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

What is the torque spec for rear axle nut bearings?

Ron, if you are talking about the nut on the end of the hub, it goes as follows. Tighten to 70 lbs-ft, then back nut off 90 degrees, check for side to side end play. Tighten until end play is 0, up to an additional 20 lb-in.
Hope that helps, it is right out of Ford workshop manual.

The large end should fit the rubber grommet, so it goes down. The small diameter end should connect to the vacuum line.

My 2003 ford tauras shakes so bad on highway

I would have that front end checked as soon as possible. It could be anything, ball joints, tie rod ends, cv joints, could be the rack and pinion steering. If any one of these things break, you will loose your steering.
