SOURCE: my high beam lights & parking lights work, but not the normal lights.1985 holden astra!

By "normal lights" I assume you mean "low-beam headlamps"? If this is true, then you may either have burned out headlamp bulbs or a faulty low-beam headlamp relay or relay circuit.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your assistance. Burnt out low beam headlamp bulbs was the problem. They said it was unusual for both to go at the same time, but that's how it was. Your help was greatly appreciated. "

Hi i have 2004 Holden Astra ,speedo not working, abs light and traction control light stays on , have put.computer on car will not let us in to engine area, has any body got any ideas

what the real problem
faulty diagnostic fault scanner tool
or no engine bay fault codes?

you could toss lots of new parts and not fix the faults
tow to a workshop or DIY fixes are possible if you can know the
specific fault codes
po500 seems to fit
https://www.obd-codes.com/p0500

a few things going wrong for that astra
fixable
speed sensor
wheel sensors faulty /abs module

if auto it will have strange gear changes and brakes unreliable

Next unclip the panel which covers the base of the gear knob. This unclips quite easily without the use of tools or screwdrivers. Pop it off from the top end first and then lifts out from the bottom.

Screw on the new gear knob. Once tightly fitting, put the gaiterover it.
Top Tip - use a cable tie to keep the new gaitor fitting snug! This stops it slipping down and looking saggy. Clip off the excess off the end of thecable tie.yannis-albums-new+gear+knob++gaiter-picture7966-tip-use-cable-tie-keep-new-gaitor-fitting-snug-audi-tt-leather-gaiter.jpg

Holden astra problems

try a Holden wreckers for a new stick as it would be cheaper than a new one . As Holden do not keep incidental spares after 5 years I would imagine it will be hard to get a genuine button but you can ask the spares department.
