I changed the fuel pump and fuel filter, im getting gas upto the injectors/carb, but only starts if i put gas in the carb, but then dies quickly wont get gas. any ideas?

If the tps (throttle position sensor) gives a high signal it will put the computer in clear flood mode which shuts off the fuel injector. Easy test, unplug the tps and try to start it. The tps is the 3 wire sensor at the end of the throttle plate If not suspect the ignition module under the distributor cap.

1990 f150 w/5.8 FI motor, idles good, take on road, it boggs down

Have you changed the tps? The tps is like a dimmer switch with the idle being the lowest setting and everything above that being progressively stronger. If the switch is bad it will not advance spark or gas flow.
