The gauge/gear/temp control lights do not work. Tail lights are fine. Bulbs are fine, replaced 2 fuses but problem persists, what to do??

The dash lights are on a different fuse and circuit from the tail lights.
If the lights in the instrument cluster work, the problem may be in the harness in the dash.

Passenger side knobs not working on climate control unit

All 3 are possible problems. A fuse is most likely the problem unless something got spilled leaked its way into the unit. Check all the fuses with a test light first before you try and replace the unit

No trying find the blower motor fuse on a 1987 300Ebenz

Under the hood in back right corner-open fuse box and I believe it is #7
But you have 2 other fan fuses. Directly in front of the fuse box is a small black plastic box that has a fuse as well. My Mercedes has had the same problems.
I recently had the ac fan blower motor changed and I now have a working panel of buttons. The 1987 300e also has reports of the control heads in the temp control buttons having to be replaced. so far- I have had my temp sensor, fan blower motor changed and no problems.

Automatic lights don't work, and the dash, temp/radio/dome lights don't work? are the fuses the problem?

Yes without a dought, cheapies way is to change all fuses on inside of car, however you also have fuses under the hood. Those fuses will be in a protective box. Check inside ones first, read fuse labels, if none of the above is there, then they will be under the hood.

Dash lights don't work

You obviously have a short in the wiring behind the dash. Naturally, you will want to take that into a shop, or, if you're good with wiring, repair it yourself. You may want to check your fuse box as well. It's likely that the short you had before with your temp control caused the fuse that controls the rest of your lights to pop. It could be a simple fix with a small amount of electrical tape. Getting the dash off an intergra is no simple feat though. Best of luck. I hope this helps you.

Heat control lights, is there a fuse

This would not be a fuse problem. If the lighting in the control unit are out, the whole control will need to be replaced.
