I have a 2002 Oldsmobile alero V6. It keeps running hot as long as it sets it dont run hot but when I start to drive it it wants to try and run hot. I flushed the radiator and engine and all hoses. They is no coolant/water mixing with the oil and not water coming out of the exhaust pipes. But it still loses water when I drive it as long as it sets ther and dont loose any water. Hi Justin, Just seen the other part of your question and suggest you have a defective water pump the alternative being a cracked cylinder head or block. I think if you get the engine warmed up to operating temperature and observe the water pump you'll see the leakage. DO NOT PUT YOUR HANDS ANYWHERE NEAR A HOT OR RUNNING ENGINE! Let me know if my guess is correct...Please. Regards John

SOURCE: coolant leaking on manifold, steaming. No hose or radiator leak.

i think its going to be the head gasket duto the way its leaking coolant. one of the water jackets maybe i would have it checked to be sure but it sounds like head gasket

SOURCE: coolant leak from left side of engine block running down oil pan.

when you say left side are we talking passanger side or drivers side if drivers side which is my guess most likely your waterpump seal is leaking

SOURCE: engine oil mixed in coolant

this would more than likely be cause by a bad cylinder head gasket. I would bet 89% this is your problem.

SOURCE: leaking coolant, oil, poorly running, won't shift into gears now

First determine where coolant loss comes from. I would not continue driving, till that step is isolated, or further damage will be done

Why when I turn my steering wheel either way my drivers front strut spring catches and spins on a 2002 olds alero v6

I am guessing you dont have standard wheels fitted. Suspect incorrect size. If standard sounds like you have front end damage altering the steering geometry.

2002 olds alero was running then would not start back up.New fuel filter and the fuel pump is fine, but it turns over, won't start

Have you reset the fuel pump switch...bled the lines? Try starting fluid for a few times then look at these issues.

2002 Oldsmobile Alero heating up

I happen to own a 2002 alero, and alot of people says the same thing about theirs. You may need to replace you head gasket and run more antifreeze than water.
