First of all are you showing the classic sign of burning oil, blue smoke at your exhaust? The oil is going somewhere. If no blue smoke then you are leaking it through a gasket .Oil ,when heated, thins. The leak may not be visible when the vehicle is stationary.Once the oil pump puts the oil under pressure it may be ejected from the engine while you drive.

Check around the oil filter for a gasket leak. It could be a bad pcv valve but I suspect that there would be other problems. Run a compression test as it is possible that a ring has broken and scored the bore. Acceptable oil use is 1 pint in 6000 miles.

More than likely u have a leaking valve cover gasket unless your seeing smoke than it might have a burnt valve guide or guides if its smoking real bad than it could have bad rings and you don't want that cause then u half to tear the motor down basically rebuilding the motor

SOURCE: rear end problem on nissan sentra 2007

None most likely.

When the the amount of probelems gets high enough, they may do something but not likely because the cost of a recall is more than what it costs to Pay people to settle out of court " if it gets that far" or its cheaper to lose a few customers. This is true with any part on a car.

If " A " (the recall) cost more than " B " the average out of court settlement, Then "C", they dont do one.

Even if it causes accident related Deaths.

Most likely the issue is due to too much weight on one side in the back, an alighnment issue, Bad frame desighn or bad parts like shocks and springs.

If its that severe than i would take it to them and explain that you have reciepts for replacing that same tire over and over. get them to look at it at least three times. Be persistant, especially if its under warranty.

Go durring a busy time when theres other customers around. Dont be crude, just make sure other customers can hear yu.

Explain that you looked online and talked to friends at work and have heard of it from other people and read about it online.

After they fineley aknowledge there may be a problem and they try to fix it three times, it becomes a Lemmon and they have to give you your money back or give you another vehicle of equal value.

Keep all reciepts and papers and everything in case it becomes a legal issue.

Good luck.

You will need a new catalytic convertor assembly. Yours is below treshold efficiency in other words its "no good".If you have it replaced, ask the garage/dealer to give you the old one back. Its worth some cash if its full. It doesn't matter thet it failed. They are going after the mesh inside of it and that is worth some $$$$. May not be much , but better than nothing.

check your exhausts catalytic converter if it is plugged your car will not go past 40 mph just unbolt the converter it is toward the front of the car if it runs better then you can get a new converter from ebay for less than 200 hope this helped. On your oil issue when the engine is still cold look underneath for a noticeable oil leak it should lead to a hole in a gasket you can ue high temperature ilicone from a parts houe to fix the leak

2009 nissan sentra using 1 qt of oil a week and computer says only misfire cylinder 3 what gives?

Take it to the dealership if it's under 60k miles. If it's sucking oil, then it sounds like you might have a bad head gasket, which is covered under the warranty. There's been a lot of hinky issues with the 2009 Sentra and #3 cylinder misfires, but apparently they don't want to do a recall on them. It's almost as if they're betting on the problem developing after the warranty expires.

Using oil - 1/2 qt every 200 miles

Hi!
Sounds like you either have a problem with the rings, or a PCV valve leak. Being an engine that is what 15 years old? It could go either way. I would start with pulling the hose off the PCV valve and making sure that no oil is being allowed to get into it. If so, then you have found a bad valve. Those are cheap. A set of rings on the other hand..?? Anyways, Good luck, and if it is the PCV valve leaking oil into the cylinders then make sure to change the spark plugs.

Something else that will cause it is just plain using the wrong oil for the engine.. So you will want to look into that.

Burning 1 qt oil 2007 grand caravan sxt per 1000 miles. changed pcv vale still happenung

Is it really burning it, or just losing it? If you have blue smoke coming out your tail pipe, and oily black spark plugs, there's really not a whole lot you can do about it short of a rebuild of your engine. It really sounds like a rear main seal leak, or a faulty oil filter.

Starting using oil abt 125K miles, abt 1 qt per 1200 mi. Dealer recommended repl PCV valve and hoses which we did. Repair had no effect and car now using abt 1 qt every 800 miles. No leaks detected.

is the car smoking blue or is the oil leeking out ?

if the is consuming oil by buring it while driving the faults are either :

Valve seats / Burnt valves
Piston Rings
or sump compression which can force oil into the combustion chamber causing it to burn it and expel the burnt oil via the exhaust system.

Either way, its going to pretty expensive on a 2002 5 series.

How much oil usage is normal?

1 quart every 2000 miles. Not all cars are created equal. The same model may burn alot less or even more.

2004 nissan murano low 3 quarts oil. no sign of a leak and no smoke.

Hard city driving during the hot summer can and will cause a bit of oil usage. 1 qt in 500 miles is not excessive. If you recently changed oil and are using a different brand this also can cause a bit of oil usage, due to the engine getting used to it. Add to full and keep a good ck on it, it should level out. if not check your air filter, pvc valve, and any vaccume hoese.

The engine seems to have oil, but the light is on in my 1995 nissan altima

The oil light means you have low oil pressure but not necessarily low oil.
Low oil pressure can lead to serious engine problems and should be fixed right away.
