Question about 2008 Mini Cooper Hardtop
I have found a few kits that look like what I need to replace the jack. This is one of them; GENUINE BMW 82-11-0-149-389 INPUT CABLE659049. What I need to know is, will this replace the one I already have, or is it only an upgrade for people who don't have the jack installed from the factory? I've found many kits and adapter cables, but most of them don't say whether they work to replace existing hardware or are an additional adapter. If this doesn't work, I need a part number that I can search for, if at all possible. Can someone help? For reference, this is what my usb/headphone jack looks like. http://i795.photobucket.com/albums/yy240/Spoutnik_bucket/Pieces%20Mini%20Cooper/PrisesAUXetUSBsurR56.jpg
Why do you need to replace tthe 3.5 jack ? contact BMW for the correct part if new one required , don't try to do on the cheap as will be asking for trouble

Ok, check the brake fluid level for a start. This could mean a few things. Your brake pads might be worn down, which would bring a yellow warning light on(triangle), at the same time with the pads being low it will have displaced the fluid, making the level low, this would be a red light on. Now because of this the body control module has detected these faults, will have turned the abs off, hence the abs light.
If brake fluid is low, this could confirm my theory.
If its low, top up with dot 5 brake fluid and take to garage to have new pads fitted.

often times this problem ends up needing a front sunroof section of the conv top replaced. The cable that drives the hooks to unlatch is most likely broken and that is currently the only fix. EXPENSIVE. Sorry

The manual has a mis print, according to MINI the correct oil to use is ESSO CVT Z2L 799 fluid and there are no other manufacturers that use it so sorry but you will have to buy it from the main dealer.

ALL AIRBAG PARTS ARE DEALER ONLY ITEMS, SO NO U ARE STUCK. IF I KNEW A CHEAPER WAY I WOULD 100%SHARE THAT WITH U, BUT WHAT IS THE PART YOU NEED EXACTLY?

I would follow the instructions in the owner's manual for this warning light. Sounds like (but don't know) low brake fluid pressure -- which could lead to a brake failure. That's why there is an exclamation point, I guess.
Not a bad idea to stick with the dealer.
