My door locks on the front of my 1989 colony park don't work. Back ones work fine. Are they on separate fuses?

No they are not. most likely you have a bad switch. Since it is just the front ones. Possibility it is bad actuators also. If they went out out the same time I would look at the switch. If one went out then the other sometime later, I would check the actuators in the door.

There is no separate fuse, the 2 systems are controlled by an electronic module called the BCM which is short for "Body Control Module". You can have this module checked for proper operation by the dealer using a special tool called a system scanner, it will return fault codes for any problems found during its active function test of the BCM

I have had similar problem, after much power tracing and power bypass the problem was only solved when I cut out the under-seat connector and hard wired it....I suspect the design of the connector and the location is susceptible to corrosion from moisture

Window fuse's and relay's may be up under driver or passenger side dash or behind glove box, under the hood and even under the seats, and finally on the ends of the dash. All passenger power windows and locks are controlled thru and get power from the master control switch on the drivers door. Could be a broken wire in the rubber boot going from the door to the body. You will have to eliminate each till you find the culprit. Check that all switches return to neutral when released. It could also be the body control module.

The door control module actually consists of the door's Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and the switches or buttons integrated into one assembly. There are two of them: the driver door module or DDM (as seen on the sample diagram below) and the passenger door module or PDM, which is on the right front door. These modules are programmable.
They are also called driver door switch (DDS) and passenger door switch (PDS), so perhaps you can rephrase your search.

FUSE PANEL IDENTIFICATION (1983-90 LINCOLN TOWN CAR) The fuse panel is located in the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. To expose fuse panel, remove lower steering column finish panel.

The electric doorlocks don't function


anytime anything electrical suddenly stops working, check the fuse. if blown, replace, if blows again, find the short.

2002 ram 1500 fuse by door for radio amp


All fuses are labeled in the fuse diagrams in the owner's manual for both fuse boxes, if you don't see the fuse listed then the system in question is not separately fused.

Disabling power door locks on 1989 Oldsmobile 98


The best way is to remove the door lock relay. this relay may be in one of these locations,
The first is the right side kick panel, the next place to look is the right side of the dash behind side cover, if no side cover then look under right side of dash.

The last place is the glove box.

I have enclosed a wiring diagram also to help you .
You will see the door lock module is also located in the same place as the relay. you can unplug module also.


IN wiring diagram you will see there is also three fuses that control parts of the door lock module, you can also remove them one at a time as you may sure that no other component is getting disabled.

I think the module or relay is the best bet. Good day.3_4_2012_1_18_41_am.gif

99 ford contour daytime running lights work, but high beams do not.


I live in Australia & I don't fully understand the term " daytime running lights " but high beam & low beam lights are on separate fuses as is the parking lights so you probably have a blown fuse, check all the fuses in the fuse box......hope this helps......cheers.

check the dome light fuse or electric lock fuse, sounds like they might be one in the same.

2006 bmw 325i remote only unlocks driverside door. will not unlock all doors when you lock it from the inside. have to use key in remote to open door. also central button to unlock doors is inop


fuse 56 and 57 control central locking,the issue is caused by surges typically in the front door lock actuators, normally at a dealer they would replace fuse 56 and 57 with a 20a mini fuse and if still occuring repl the door lock(s) that dont work or typically both front, first replace fuse 56 and 57 with 20a fuses as were too small from factory and than operate ten to 15 times, if it doesnt work at first dont panic,let the car go to sleep which takes about 16 min and than try again this problem has nothing to do with the key fob or the lock unlock button inside,also the fuses are located behind the glove box just rere the access panel and they are found at lower left section
