Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

If i have a concentrated formula of 1 qt of liquid how many ounces of this concentrate would it take to make 2 eight oz solutions per day for 8 days?

Instead of making a gallon, i would like to put the concentrate in small vials to be added to 8ozs of water or juice at my own convenience. Plus it would be more suitable for travel.

You have posted in the wrong section but my maths is pretty good so hope this helps. It would be much easier and more exact if you made up the whole amount then decant into 8oz containers, you have a quart =2 pts so will need 6pts to make the gallon , which i expect you already new ,if you must do it the other way then use 2oz of the concentrate and add 6oz of water

It is not a solution, but as long as there is oil in there, you are good. Just make sure you keep a good eye on it, just in case it gets work. Best wishes. If you need anything, let me know Bob. I am always here.

How many pounds is 18 gallons

How many pounds are in a gallon?
A gallon is a measure of volume equal to 128 fluid ounces (fl oz). One fluid ounce of water weighs one ounce (oz). So a gallon of water weighs 128 oz, or 8 pounds.
A gallon of other liquids will vary in weight depending on the density of the liquid.

Replacing V5 a.c. compressor on 1992 Lumina. Do I use 150 pag oil? Eight ounces? Thanks

The amount of oil that you add depends on exactly how much came out of the compressor. For example if the system is to have 14 oz, and the compressor is to have 4 oz, and when you measure, the compressor has 2 oz, that means the SYSTEM is 1/2 way down, or 7 oz short. I prefer to flush all oil out and reload.

Be sure to replace the receiver dryer anytime that you open the A/C system, then vacuum purge and leak test at about -30 inches for 30 minutes.

How many grams of r134a will it take as it has no plate with the info

Usually it will take 2 or 3 cans of 134a to charge a typical American car's or light truck's a/c system.

There are about 454 grams per lb. of matter and each can is about 12 oz. (not 16 oz. = 1 lb.).

3 cans would be 3 cans x 12 oz. = 36 oz. or about 2 lbs. 4 oz.

If you round down to 2 lbs., then the grams is about 454+454 which is about 900 grams rounded down.

You could find the grams per ounce and multiply by 36.

454 /16 = 28.375

and 28.375*36=1021 grams for 3 12 oz. cans of refrigerant.
