That dead spot is like a dead spot in a computer monitor; basically it is the same thing. There is no repairing it, there is only replacing it. If you can find a used one it should work. I would have to think that the dealer charges a LOT for a new one. You should contact them to get the part number for it. There is a good chance that screen was used in a number of different Acura and Hondas, Once you have the screen, it's a matter of disassembling the dash to pull out the old one and install the new/used one. You might even want to talk to a automotive stereo shop to see if they would do the work, or by some chance they might have a line on a screen that would work.

I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The navigation screen and back up camera display have gone black. I've checked fuses and all seem to be working. What should I try next?

You will need to remove the entire unit from the dash and have it repaired at one of the local factory approved repair centers or go online and look for a repair center that does Honda, the online route is much less expensive.

Have a growing brown spot on backup camera. The bed has a cover. Could hot weather be ruining the camera?

Before saying, "yes", I'd suggest that you check the lens for stuff on it. I'd also suggest testing another screen, screens are more temperature sensitive than most cameras.
