If you have no spark after you broke whatever it is. I can't tell what it is by tje picture. But it sounds like it's the input for the coil packs (map sensor) maybe somewhere down that line.

SOURCE: what is the blue round thing under the hydrolic on Audi A4 1998

Do you mean the canister below the driver's headlight, down at the bottom? It's an evaporative emissions canister. If that's the one you mean, with the vacuum line coming off the top and running up along the driver's valve cover to the solenoid on the top rear of the engine, it's for emissions purposes. You'd do well to get 7-8 feet of silicone vacuum line and replace the whole thing. The heat of the engine bakes it until it's brittle and it breaks.

Three things to check: Coil pack (the main box that spark plug wires connect to), Spark plugs and wires, that's not what's it, your fuel pump is gone. Definitely would get a fuel pump either way due to stalling of the car and possible excess air and a coil pack as well do to a malfunction reading with the emissions module causing the spark plugs to lose energy all at once which then can lead to the coil pack going bad and sending false emission rate timings threw the fuel management system causing the fuel pump to have the sensor go bad. This happened to me as well. Same exact thing. After I did those fixes, car was like I have never driven a true Audi till that day I changed the coil pack and fuel pump. Eventually to be safe I got all new 4+ Bosch spark plugs and wires just to prevent and imbalances. Changes your car into a pure German luxury mobile.

Hi, I recently got my 2005 Audi A4 2.0 TDI serviced by an AUDI garage. They replaced the timing belt and water pump as well. After I left the garage i realised my heating wasnt working correctly....

i would get a water pump from the dealer and install it, In some cases i found that after market water pumps don't have the same clearance between the pump housing and the propeller.this causes less water flow.

Hi Audi A4 1.8 T sport, X reg failed mot on high emissions Front Lambda replaced, and readings still high (running rich) any ideas please

hi this could be a few things but more than likely it is either the MAF sensor or MAP sensor, these things do roughly the same thing, but the MAP also adjusts the timing through the ECM , either one would cause this to "over fuel" and not burn correctly, the starting place would be try the MAF first as this is the common one, make sure spark plugs have been changed as this also will help, if you still get a fail, then try the MAP sensor...hope this helps good luck..

There are multiple possibilities that could cause it. Your best bet would probably be to take it to a mechanic for a tune-up. If you wanted to do it yourself then you could:
- Change the spark plugs
- Change your timing belt
- Transmission fluid change (if its never been changed)
- Check your air filter and change if dirty
- Could also to the tensioner, roller and water pump - but I'd advise the above options first

Can Fuel pressure cause no spark in a 1997 GMC Sierra? I replaced the fuel pump. drove 30kms and it died. I have no spark. Any ideas for this?

Do you still have fuel pump pressure? Is there fuel getting to the cylinders? If all the fuses are good, then replace the crankshaft sensor.

The opti-spark distributor cap is below the water pump.
Often a leaking water pump will cause a short in the distributor
Due to the amount of time and labor cost to remove the water pump, and that fact that the water pump has to be removed to replace the distributor cap, it is a good idea to replace the distributor cap at the same time the water pump is replaced. The water pump is driven by a pinion shaft with an " O " ring. Be sure to replace the " O " ring too else you may shortly develop an oil leak at that point.

Heater does not produce hot air even on high only warm air

My 2002 Audi A4 doesn't produce the hot air, It's an Auto computer control temperature system. I took my car to the local mechanic (gas station), he said that the water pump and the timing belt need to be replaced.

The heating system normally produces by the engine, then normally the "thermostat' is causing the issue, but the temperature gauge doesn't indicate the overheat.

Any idea what's cause this problem?
