I was wondering if there is a fuse for the transmisson on a 03' mercury mountaineer?

Without knowing what the issue is, I don't believe you have a fuse problem, I would take both terminal ends off the battery for about 10 minutes, then reinstall the battery terminals. Some times a reset will clear out confused modules, be sure to have the transmission fluid checked. (No dipstick)

Yes thier is several fuses. Depends on for what. 1 fuse is for the solenoids and 1 is for the reverse lamps. 1 is for PCM neutral safety switch

Assuming it is w/o IVD, 15A FUSE 23 and 10A fuse 22 in the central junction box plus 40A FUSE 5, 30A FUSE 10, and 2A FUSE 45 apply.

have the transmission fluid level checked , if you don't know when it was last changed i'd have that done , as old fluid loses its viscosity and other properties just like engine oil

sometimes you have to wigle the OBD 2 connector on the tester. Sometimes, you have a tool that does not communicate with your OBD 2 system. Go to Autozone and have them do a free scan to see if their tester works.

Fuse 17, 25 amp, yellow in dash fuse panel supplies 12v

PIN 16 Orange, lower right I think is 12v all the time.

Automatic Transmission uses MERCON V ATF, 12.7quarts.

Transfer Case uses MERCON ATF, AWD 1.25 quarts, 4 wheel drive 1.4 quarts.

The Radio Fuse is located in cavity 29, 15AMP.

Over heating


check to see if fan motor or fans are running with ac on,,,if not check the fan relay and fuses

Auto transmission stop pulling and would not operate in no gears.


this sounds like the splind in the middle of transfer case and transmisson .best of luck
