Question about 2007 Mahindra Bolero NEF
The check engine light comes on and almost instantly the car cuts out it is a diesel engine i have checked oil and water levels and they are fine. the temp seems to be of normal operating level no strange noises can be heard so what could be causing this to happen
With the technology built into todays cars the simple basic troubleshooting is pretty much gone. When the "Check engine light" comes on it could be a thousand different things. The only way you can tell what it is, is to get a diagnostic read out from the onboard computer. You can usually go to an auto parts store and ask if they could do a code read for you. Once you have that, you'll at least have a direction to start in. You can also buy your own ODBI code reader; plug it in, get the read outs, and then refer to the codes for that car. You can find them online.
