I have a zetech engine.da bolt of my oil plug is badly damage.i have re-done da head bt did not change da oil plug bolt.wil dis coz any problem 2 da engines performance?

Is it the thread of the plug or the head ? It should be replaced as it will be nessacery to remove it next time the car is in for servicing and if the thread is damaged then it will probably leak oil .

Shouldn't hurt it as long as our not leaking any oil . Next time you change your oil I would get a new plug at your local parts store ther only about $5

SOURCE: check engine light is on,display says restricted performance

Anything can cause the check engine light to go on from a loose gas cap, to a transmission issue. When the onboard computer detects an issue, it will restrict performance so as to not damage the engine any further. An Oil change won't affect this light. The only way to determine the cause of the light is to have the computer scanned with an OBD-II tool (Autozone does this for free) to determine the codes and cause for the light. You can also clear the light with the OBD-II tool, but if the problem is still there, the light will just come back on

Sounds like the head-gasket blew and allowed oil into the coolant and coolant into the oil. Unfortunately, it's time for a tear-down and rebuild of the engine.

When an engine gets hot, you must shut it off before it gets so hot that it begins to lose power. Sometimes this simply can't be done safely. Once the engine gets so hot that it shuts down, permanent damage may have be done. Bearing can gall, piston rings can break, piston crowns melt, but usually the oil breaks down and the main damage is to bearings and perhaps the crankshaft. Diagnostics would include changing the oil, attaching a good mechanical oil pressure gauge then spin the engine with the spark plugs removed to see how bad the damage is. If oil pressure is adequate, run a compression test. This should give you enough information to decide if the engine can be saved without a major overhaul. Low compression can mean blown head gaskets, warpped heads, broken piston rings, warpped valves, etc.

You could have a bad spark plug. May just need plugs and wires but be sure to gap the plugs. If the check engine light is on have the codes checked if it's using a lot of gas it could be he oxygen sensor.

Da bolt on the head next 2 da spark plug is damaged! Wil this coz harm 2 da engine?


It is vital that all the head bolts are operational so that the correct tension is applied to the head and gasket. If the bolt has full tension then it should be ok but if the head has broken off then gasket failure will result in time.

How do I change oil filter housing on a zetech 2 litre ford focus 04 model


thought it was a screw on oil filter on the zetec engine but i do not know everything ,if one of them plastic housings with a cartridge filter then just have a good look as their are sure to be three or bolts holding it on ,never had to change one to myself as i have the right tools to remove the head to change a filter but as with anything it could develop a crack i suppose.

How to change spark plugs in a 2005 chev colorado


SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT - REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the ignition coils (lines at end this document), then return here once you have gotten the Coil
Packs off and precede with step 2 from here.
2. Clean the spark plug recesses with low pressure air. CAUTION: Wear safety glasses
when using compressed air, as flying dirt particles may cause eye injury. NOTE:
Clean the spark plug recess area before removing the spark plug. Failure to do so could
result in engine damage because of dirt or foreign material entering the cylinder head, or
by the contamination of the cylinder head threads. The contaminated threads may prevent
the proper seating of the new plug. Use a thread chaser to clean the threads of any
contamination.
3. Remove the spark plugs from the cylinder head. NOTE: Allow the engine to cool before
removing the spark plugs. Attempting to remove the spark plugs from a hot engine may
cause the plug threads to seize, causing damage to cylinder head threads.
4. Inspect the spark plugs.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Measure the spark plug gap on the spark plugs to be installed. Compare the measurement
to the gap specifications. NOTE:
• Use only the spark plugs specified for use in the vehicle. Do not install spark
plugs that are either hotter or colder than those specified for the vehicle. Installing
spark plugs of another type can severely damage the engine.
• Check the gap of all new and reconditioned spark plugs before installation. The
pre-set gaps may have changed during handling. Use a round feeler gage to ensure
an accurate check. Installing the spark plugs with the wrong gap can cause poor
engine performance and may even damage the engine.
2. Install the spark plugs to the cylinder head. NOTE:
• Be sure that the spark plug threads smoothly into the cylinder head and the spark
plug is fully seated. Use a thread chaser, if necessary, to clean threads in the
cylinder head. Cross-threading or failing to fully seat the spark plug can cause
overheating of the plug, exhaust blow-by, or thread damage.
• Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten the spark plugs to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
3. Install the ignition coils.

IGNITION COIL(S) REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct.
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the oil pressure sensor (2).
3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness retainers (1) from the power steering pump (2).
4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (1, 4) from the following:
• The exhaust camshaft position (CMP) sensor (5)
• The camshaft position (CMP) actuator solenoid valve (6)
5. Disconnect the engine wiring harness retainer (2) from the camshaft cover (3).
6. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors from the following:
• The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor (1)
• The fuel injector harness (2)
• The ignition coils (4)
• The heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) (5)
7. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
8. Carefully disengage the engine wiring harness conduit from the camshaft cover, and position aside.
9. Remove the ignition coil bolts.
10. Remove the ignition coils from the camshaft cover.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the ignition coils into the camshaft cover. IMPORTANT: Ensure the ignition coil seals are properly seated to the camshaft cover.
2. Install the ignition coil bolts. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Tighten the ignition coil bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
3. Attach the engine wiring harness conduit to the camshaft cover.
4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the intake CMP sensor.
5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors to the following:
• The ECT sensor (1)
• The fuel injector harness (2)
• The ignition coils (4)
• The HO2S (5)
6. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (1, 4) to the following:
• The exhaust CMP sensor (5)
• The CMP actuator solenoid valve (6)
7. Connect the engine wiring harness retainer (2) to the camshaft cover (3).
8. Connect the engine wiring harness retainers (1) to the power steering pump (2).
9. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the oil pressure sensor (2).
10. Install the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct.

My dealer tells me my oil pan threads are wore and i need a new pan is this possible


the story you are getting from the dealership sounds very strange. Contrary to what the dealer states the oil pan threads do not wear out over time or the quantity of oil changes. The oil pan threads will strip (be damaged) if the oil plug is tightened too much (too much torque is applied) when installing the plug.

On all cars and Mitsubushi's I have seen the oil pan plug is sealed from leaking oil with a metal or composite washer. The washer is installed on the plug and seals between the plug head and pan. The treads of the plug do not seal the pan as the washer serves this purpose. In most cases it is recommended this washer be replaced (a dollar or less) with every oil change but most people don’t. Have never seen a car that used only the treads to do the sealing.

It is possible someone has over tightened the plug at least once or many times leading the to the threads being stripped. If all your oil changes were at a dealer, then this damage was done by mechanics at the dealer. The other question is if the same dealer did your changes over a year (how many changes have been done?), why didn’t they bring this up before? Oil pan plugs do not just go bad, the pan threads fail because the plug is over tightened

but yes this is definetly possible in both the sense of the oil dran plug or the bolts that connect the oil pan to the engine block. Now if you mean the bolts that connect the oil pan to the engine block its only possible if the oil pan has been removed and someone put the bolt back in crossthreaded it or over tightened them. It couldnt so much happen from normal vibration, it would be a human error problem. and as for the drain plug that was covered above.

If you dropped a bolt or nut down the head will it find its way to the oil pan ?


Hello jim slaughter: My name is Roger and I will help with your question. The answer is not likely. You must remove the object before cranking the engine. If you crank the engine over with the object in the cylinder. Major damage will occur. You will impact the piston and cylinder head with the object.If you have aluminumn cylinder heads the object will most likely become implanted in the head and bend valves. It could severly damage the piston and crack the edge of the oil land. If the heads are cast iron. figure bent valves and damaged piston.You will destroy the spark plug also. The best way to remove the object is to remove thhe cylinder head. If this is a late model vehicle you will also need a new set of head bolts. Do not reuse the old bolts. What motors are interchangeable with a 1998 ford escort


you can fit a zvh engine which is a 1800cc zetech block with a 1600cc rs turbo head bolted on and will fir in without too much trouble or a standard 1800cc zetech engine will go in
