Question about 2005 GMC Envoy Xl

I check the connector to the switch and it was nothing burned and I didn't smell anything burned so is it a relay or sensor

Check both sides of the fuses and test all relays. Sounds like you may have a burned up computer or bcm. Antifreeze smell? Possibly the heater core.

I have a 95 4.0 i6 jeep grand cherokee laredo it stalls over and over sometimes it wont start again. Its not getting any spark to the plugs. I put a new coil and pcm but hasn't made any diffrence....


Sounds like it could be one of a few things here.Engine control module (ECM). Engine control relay, induction coil that's housed inside the distributor(If it has an electronic distributor) Just as an extra precautionary measure, check your fuse box for any bad contacts with fuses as the contacts do get dirty over time and also any main voltage wires connected to the fuse box as I have had many experiences whereby connectors on the ends of wires have opened from contraction and expansion and some times need to be pressed close again with a pliers(gently though) All the sensors on that vehicle are wired through the fusebox. The cooling fan does not turn on when my 96 Chrysler Concorde when the engine gets hot...where should I look for the problem?


Somewhere around the flange of the engine cooling radiator is a thermostat that opens and closes a circuit for the fan, but first check the fuse box in the engine compartment and look for the engine fan relay fuse... Check it out first!

1993 Dodge Dakota 5.2 318 4x4, turns over, but no spark. Cat converter shot, removed. Plugs, cap, rotor replaced. MAP sensor recently replaced...will start and run once in a great while.


Try switching the ASD Relay for another relay in the Fuse Box in the Engine Compartment. If the ASD Relay fails it cancels the power to the Hall Effect & Fuel Pump.
If that doesn't change anything, check the wiring harness that travels down the left wheelwell for damage, It actually goes outside of the engine compartment, into the wheelwell where it can be damaged by rocks, road debris or a tire (if you've flexed the suspension, or had the truck off road). If the wiring there checks out, it leaves one other thing.
The Hall Effect Sensor inside the Distributor.

Where is the fuel pump relay switch located on ' 91 ford f-150


there is a relay for the fuel pump beside the air filter on my 91 f150 4x4 4.9L i6 300 I am having having problems with fuel pump also. hope this helps!

My land rover disco '97 has a smell when driving uphill. smells like burning. never does it any other time?

It's an odd fault so I will try my best to think of things you should be looking at, but Im not 100% on this one.

Check around the exhaust manifold and down pipe somthing may be touching it when the car go's up hill. check the lambda sensor wire, and engine loom & wires around this area.

as its a 4x4 I would check the prop shaft is not contacting anything also.

Not much moves back when the car does so it's a tricky fault.

My 96 Jeep Cherokee Country 4x4, 4.0 I6 will start up, run for a bit and then die with no warning. Ive replaced the crank sensor, cam sensor, coil, plugs, wires, battery, cap, button, fuel filter, asd...


Three items come to mind...possible intermittent ignition switch malfunction, fuel pump or pump relay, or if they still use one on that year, bad ballast on left fender near hood hinge. What you need to determine is if there is fuel pressure, injector signal and spark when in no start.
Also could be a fault in the security system if equipped...seen broken wires in door boot do that at times. Nothing I could offer past ideas without actually being there and doing a ton of tests. Only "up" side is when you have finished, you will have a just about completely new electronics system! (I know, bad joke, but you will find the problem.) Note though that pin connectors do not look rusted when bad...generally just look blacker than others if you want to go over them again as well.
I seem to remember someone having a similar problem a while back and the cure was to move the asd relay to a cooler location BUT, don't remember for sure if ti was the exact same problem and, being electronic, too many problems can look exactly the same but be totally different when you get to the bottom of it!
