Why does it shut off going down the road, but immediately starts back up?

To much back pressure. Catalytic converter is clogging up. Remove the pre O2 sensor. It will be loader, but if it stays running, replace the cat/s.

Cat 3126, Oil press. drops off from 50 psi. to 17 psi as it warms up

According to their website the minimum oil pressure is 41 psi at idle. I'd suggest verifying the oil pressure with a manual gauge directly plumbed to the engine. If it is 17 psi when the engine is up to temp. then you may have issues with the bearings. You should take an oil sample and find out what the metal levels are in your oil to determine if the bearings are going

My 99 jimmy wont start, i can hear my fuel pump kick on when i turn the key. the jimmy will fire up and die right after that.

If the ECM will not get any signal from the crank sensor it will shut off the engine, so I will suggest have the truck scanned and if it says no crank signal then change the crank sensor.

How do i knw if my timing chain is bad? i have changed the position sensor had a tune up my car just stoped running last wed its a 89 lesaber dnt usually have problems with it other than normal wear and...

Timing chains on 3800 engines do not go bad. The older 3.8 1987 back did. You need to put a crank sensor on it first also check the ign. module under coil pack for green gel that may be coming out of it. Clean the all three battery cables and replace the two bolts too. My 1990 lesabre 3800 has 295000 miles on its timing chain.

No power, cruise wont increase or stay at a steady speed , double the gas consumption, black smutt on plugs ,throttle body positioning sensor keeps going out, runs like S__T

Please list what you have done so far. I would suggest looking for an exhaust leak and do a back pressure test before the CAT. If the CAT has broke internally it could be letting the exhaust leave the CAT too quickly.

Had the same problem last year with my truck. It was the MAP sensor. Mine was on the far left hand side of the fire wall Or passenger side. Should be one vacuum line going into it. unplug it and try firing it up.it probably wont run perfect but better. I went to a scrap yard and picked one up for $10. (They let me plug it in first to make sure that's what i needed.)As soon as I plugged it in the truck started purring like a tom cat in a dairy. If your into the scrap yard thing than its not an expensive experiment. Not sure if this is you problem ( My crystal ball works about as good as anyone else's) but its a suggestion.
