Sounds like you have a motor for a Cessna 150 / airplane which looks like a vw engine except it has two plugs with two different magnetos to run them. Come in 4/6 cylinders usually with one central carburetor. Double check position for gaps in piston rings and that there in the right places. If not offset correctly the compression will be low and pass/dump oil into cylinder. Also check the cylinder sleeves for cracks. I would recommend that you try using die penetrant inspection kit if you cant find the source. The sleeve is installed in cylinder heads. And cylinders can be removed from main body for inspection/replacement on a Cessna engine. And if I'm right about the motor you got then you can probably look up info on motor. Any airplane part has 100% traceability and you can get down to who made it, what part of world the rock was minned to make the engine and even a sample of material will be on file along with quality testing and any other information they have on it which should be all of it. Good luck with it.

There is excessive oil in my spark plugs, what is the cause of it/

Can be 1 of 2 causes, or combination of both. They are: Need new valve seals. Bad seals let engine oil drip from above when car is run, then parked. The other cause is badly worn oil rings on the pistons. Sorry, not a cheap fix. I've known people that put "thicker" oil in, but it doesn't fix the problem.

Anytime you are getting oil inside of the combustion chamber you are looking at an internal issue. Either valve stem seals, piston rings, or head gasket would be the most viable suspects.

Oil in #1 spark plug tube, plug wire popped off changed valve cover gasket and the upper tube seals. It ran fine for about an hour then started missing again

Was the plug fouled again after you made repairs? Did you install a new plug and run it? If the plug itself is fouling you probably also see blue smoke in the exhaust pipe. Get the engine warm, check compression and do what is called a cylinder leakage test, it puts a volume of air into each cylinder with the valves closed and how much air leaks out determines the over all health of the engine. Does the engine have excess oil consumption? The oil entering the cylinder and fouling the plug can enter from a worn valve guide or guide seal, a worn or damaged oil control piston ring or a worn or damaged piston bore or piston, none of which are going to be inexpensive to fix.

Good luck, i hope this helps.

Eng. shakes spits/sputters oil in spark plugs

I just had this fixed on my suby today. The cause is that the spark plugs, go through the valve covers on the 2.5 l .When the o rings in the cover go, the result is oil in the spark plugs. The cost of the repair in Canada was about $500 including diagnostics as well as new plugs and wires About 1.5 hours labor and new seals and gaskets. It now runs like new. This is a common problem for this subaru engine as well as for the dodge neon.
