You may have to see if there is a specific recallabration , for it ,I don't know what you have, so try auto zone library.

SOURCE: Speedometer goes to 0 and trans downshifts

There are 2 speed sensors on the transaxle. One is for vehicle speed and one is for trans output shaft speed. My guess is that you replaced the one for output shaft speed.

Codes p1747 and p0500

The 500 code is vehicle speed sensor, the other is spooky BUS system failure ECM?EGS controller. The 500 is probably your shift problem. Hopefully the other is a ghost.Seems you should be able to manually shift and get low gear

Code p0500 and i already replaced both input and output speed sensors

take the vehicle and have the codes cleared, ( reset ) if you replaced the sensors you need to clear the code,, many places do this for free, so check around, once cleared, ask them to re read the codes again to be sure it cleared for good , you might want to check the speedo , if its working ok, never mind that ,, also, have you replaced the tires recently? a change in size will affect this code, as will a abs brake system fault, ( but if its that the brake icon in the dash will light up )

I have a sonata 1997, and the speedometer doesnt work , cant seem to find the speedometer cable, can yu assit please. Regards Hendrik

SOME CARS DON'T HAVE A SPEEDO CABLE! IT MAY BE ELECTRONIC THRU A SPEED SENSOR LOCATED ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION! IF YOU HAVE AN OBD-II CODE READER, THERE SHOULD BE A PLUG LOCATED UNDER THE DASH, THE CODE WILL PROBABLY BE A P0500!

Trouble code p0500

P0500 is Vehicle speed sensor A, Check owners manual for location of sensor. Check the wire harness in the jeneral area of this sensor for any vissible damage. Replace sensor if required. then have the code cleared from the computers memory. Good Luck. From Ernie @ RedDeer, Alberta, Canada.

P0500 speed sensor code, odo and speedo not working

If one speed sensor goes out, it will make your speedo stop working. I believe the sensors are about 200 a piece. You'll have to take it to the dealership to find out which one is malfunctioning as there are 5 of them total (I'm pretty sure). They only charged me 30 to put it in as it is really easy and that way it is warrantied by them.
One other problem I had was with the electric brake controller on my truck went haywire and when I disconnected it, my speedo came back to life.
Hope this helps!

2005 ToyotaCamry fault code P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor Malfuction

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .
