SOURCE: I just bought a 2006

Does the horn honk at you? If so how many times? If not count how many times the dash lights flick on and off and let me know. Make sure your doors and hood are closed. I would also check the peice that they should have screwed to your hood underneath. This is called a mercury switch it tells the remote start if your hood is closed or not, it should sit at a minimum of 30 degrees from the hood when it is open. Your user manual will have a description of what the honks (dash lights flashing) mean-2 honks means ..., 3 honks means hood or doors open,6 honks means it is in valet mode. If you have any questions ask me I install remote starts for Ford

If the new battery didn't help, go to Ebay and buy a new one.

My 2012 ford escape will not start nothing is working my battery is good. cannot open the door with the remote starter

Maybe the battery WAS good. If nothing is working the battery is the first place to look. When you open the door do the inside lights come on? Will the radio play with the key in Accessory position. Something could have ran the battery down and now it needs to be recharged.

My 2009 Ford Escape remote starter....i click and it beeps once..then beeps three times. Will not start or turn over engine. What does this mean or is there quick fix?.....been working good for 3 yrs.

By some strange reason it happens also if the instrument panel dim light is all way up and you have to keep your dome light switch off or it will light even if all doors are shut. I put the dim light switch into normal position and my remote starter resumed its function! Thanks to F150 forum, I found this remedy there: 2010 REMOTE START

Where is the starter located on a 2.3 liter 2006 ford escape?

Front side of the motor at the transmission. It is difficult to get to. I know the 2005 version appears to use an induction starter which is difficult to get to but fairly dependable. If your having starting problem I would look for another cause though, I rarely find issues with the escape starter.

all you do is open up the gas cap where you fill the tank at you do not need to remove any fuses but if you feel better take the negative side of the battery off first especially if you have a remote starter
