Do your self a favor and buy a new switch you can got one fairly cheep at a junk yard, if you start jumping wires you might confuse the computer that will lead to different problems. You can take the door panel off and pull the window up manually until you get a new switch.

If it does not make any noise, or sound like its getting any power, most likely its the switch.

I have a 2002 chevy silverado and i have changed the switch and the motor on the passenger side window and it still doesnt work

If you changed the switch in the passenger door, the problem may be in the master switch in the driver's door. It powers the passenger side switch.

My 2001 chevy silverado's low beams don't work. I

The wiring for the low beams would run not to the ignition, but to the dimmer switch. I don't know what color they are, but sounds like you are at the source of the problem, if the low beams quit when the column is let down. Pull the trim pieces off the steering column and examine the wires going to the dimmer switch. You may see some wiring insulation scraped off. It could be a bad dimmer switch, but check the wiring first.
Good luck.

Driver side power window on a 1999 chevy silverado LS won't go down. passenger side window works. bought new switch, nothing changed. bought new regulator with motor and still, nothing changed. i...

Motor is not turning in second direction to lower window. Either the new motor is defective or the device that reverses the electricity to the motor is defective. Regulator?

Take motor out and feed it juice - will turn. Reverse polarity and it should turn in other direction.

I have a 2001 Lincoln LS. My rear passenger door

you can try feeding the switch direct but you will need to find out which wire carries the power to the switch, this can be accomplished using a test light or small meter. when you find which wire carries the power to the switch then you by-pass the switch and put the power to the other side of the switch manually instead of using the switch and the door lock will undue ut self. then you can change the door lock actuator.

Power window on 2001 chevy silvrado

Sounds like your gears are striped out inside the motor. I had the same problem on a car of mine. I just went to a parts store and bought the gear and took the motor apart and fixed it myself. It cost 18 dollars with tax.

Good Luck.

Passenger window only works from drivers switch

If you have already replaced the passenger side switch and it still doesnt work its a good chance that there is a pinched wire in the door itself. However usually it wont work from the drivers side either. But I still suggest looking there first.

Passenger side power window suddenly quit working. Window is in "up" position, but will not work from either the driver control switch, nor the passenger control switch.

I had the same problem with my driver side window, so I just replaced the power window motor. It took less than an hour, cost about $35 or $40 and it works perfectly now.
