Where is the water pump located in a 1999 Chrysler Sebring 2.5 V6

It is located directly above your harmonic balancer. It should be a smaller pulley that is turned by the serpentine bet.

As for replacement,

Attempted to crank to yukon. Started turning over, but then stopped. have done this about 10 times trying to crank it.

Have the starting/charging system checked out by first checking the fully charged battery under a load tester.

If the battery checks out as good, then proceed to the amp draw test for the starter motor. If it draws 85 Amps to 120 Amps and doesn't turn vigorously, then the starter is bad.

Check that the crankshaft can be turned by putting a breaker bar fitted with the appropriate sized socket on the crankshaft and see if it can be turned, with resistance, by hand. when in park.

If not, then the engine is seized up.

Good luck on this repair.

Was driving and it made a poping noise and just quit. Starter just clicks one click.

Can the engine's crankshaft be turned by hand with a breaker bar and appropriate sized socket? If not, the engine may be seized or it through a rod or some internal damage to the engine has occurred.

I got a bad timing change on my car,i got all the stuff on front of the car out but im trying to remove the center bolt on the cranw chaff and i can not move that bolt, what can i do,please.

get a half inch breaker bar and a impact socket place the socket on the bolt put the breaker bar against the frame and make sure there is nothing between it and the breaker bar, If the battery is disconnected reconnect it them turn your key on and just bump the starter a couple of times and you should be fine. Had to do it on many cars before I was able to afford air tools. make sure the breaker bar is in the right position for engine turn over the crank should turn clock wise rotation so set the bar up so that when you bump the starter it will loosen the bolt and not tighten, if you do it backwards you will bust the bolt or the crank and you don't want to do that. hope this helps.

I need to know how to install a altenator belt for a 1996 chevy cavalier

You need a 15mm socket and breaker bar to put the socket on in order to change the belt. put the socket on the bolt in the center of the belt tensioner and pull towards the front of the car. This takes tension off of the belt and allow it to be taken off. when you put the new belt on just ease the breaker bar back toward the rear of the car until it touches the belt and remove the socket. the tensioner will automaticly adjust its self.

Hey, you responded to my problem with my 1993 accord that suddenly died on the highway. It was the timing belt, Thank You! I am removing covers and belts and am having difficulties with the crankshaft...

This part's fun. If you're keeping the pulley from turning, you can put the socket size on a breaker bar and attach a decent length of pipe to the breaker bar for increased leverage and pop it. Another way is to wedge the breaker bar against the ground to keep the nut from turning and tap the ignition (try to turn it over for about 3 seconds to pop it). There is also a manual impact driver that runs about $20.00. It has a 1/2 inch drive socket holder. Hold the socket into bolt and tap it with a 3lb. hammer to give it a 1/4 turn. Finally, you can fit the socket and breaker bar against the bolt and crack it a few times with a soft-faced hammer to loosen. Try spraying some penetrating oil into the bolt (I prefer Liquid Wrench, but WD-40 also works). Any of these methods should free it.

Changing timing belt on 1987 toyota celica...i am having trouble removing the bolt on the pulley...what am i doing wrong??? Is it a reverse thread? is their a pin or lock washer?

That bolt is on very tight not reverse etc, just tight. Most shops use an air gun to remove it. If your engine turns clockwise (when you are facing pulley), sometimes you can use a solid breaker bar (not one with a flex head...it will snap) and an impact socket braced against an immovable part of the chassis, install bb& socket then "bump" the ign key. The crank will turn but if braced properly, the bolt wont, but will loosen up. (take great care doing this...if bar & socket come loose they may fly up and injure you or some important engine part). I use this method a lot but you have to know it's not in any book!!!

On an 02 2.4l camry how do u change the serpentine belt

Hi Nick,
  • Get a 14mm or 9/16" socket and a long handled ratchet or breaker bar.
  • Get the belt around all the pulleys except the A/C compressor or Alternator.
  • The tensioner pulley is on a spring loaded arm. Get your socket on the center nut of this pulley.
  • Slowly pull the ratchet toward the center of the engine. The pulley will pivot on the arm allowing you to get the belt on the final pulley.
  • Slowly release the tension.
  • You're done
