Make sure your thermostat is not installed the wrong way like up side down. I did this once.
Is your radiator plugged or is the water pump working properly? Is the anti freeze up where it should be? What about an air lock in the system?
Just a couple of ideas.

SOURCE: 2001 buick lesabre is running

replacing the thermostat is exactly what i would have suggested for your vehicle for the overheating issue. try this, with the engine running at operating temperature, check to insure that the cooling fans coming on when the engines gaining temperature. your cooling fan may be going bad and not coming on when needed,in this case it may be a bad cooling fan sensor,or just a bad cooling fan altogether.with the engine running after you've driven the car until it gets warm, open the hood and look visually at the cooling fan to insure it's running{the engine fan} in front of your radiator. if it's not running {fan} check in the main fuse box under the hood for a bad engine fan relay 1st if no bad relay, then check for a bad engine fan motor.with the key switch in "off"position try to spin the engine fan manually by hand. if it does spin by hand it still may be a bad fan motor. or bad fan you have a check engine light on? if so you can have it code read at any auto zone or advance auto for free.this may be of great assistance to you if the check engine light is on. hope this helps and thank you for choosing

SOURCE: My 98 subaru is not

Well the gauge issue could be your Coolant temp switch is bad.But if the car is blowing hot air out when the ac is on,that can be a faulty thermostat new in the box(it does happen) or you have a airpocket in your cooling system which just needs bled out.Usually there is a small valve located near the water inlet to the engine just open it and run the engine until water starts coming out then close off.Or if the car is not running hot, then you may just have a blend door or the heater control valve under the dash stuck on heat so it is just letting in hot air all the time.Narrow down what it is not then you will find out what is doing it.Check the switch, check your bleed valve, then check your heater valve and hoses. All are fairly cheap to replace.

Changed thermostat water pump and radiator on my 2001 Buick Century but still keep running hot...what else could be the problem???HELP PLEASE

Check to see if the radiator fan is on when the AC is on. The new thermostat may have a higher operating temperature than the old one. The thermostat could have been installed upside down. The gauge is defective and reading the wrong temperature.

Where is the heating core located in my 2001 lesbre

You can get an idea from the the locations of the heater hoses under the hood on the firewall. These are a bear to replace as the core is under the dash and difficult to get to.

How to bleed air from cooling system 2001 buick century

there is a small bolt on the black pipe above the water pump housing, you turn it and the antifreeze will start to come out, just snug it do not over tighten, they snap off easily. some 3100 engines have a bleeder on the thermostat housing (follow top radiator hose)
