Question about Lexus IS 350
I have a Lexus IS 350 and the shift indicator seal has broken (plastic piece). Has anyone ever replaced this and can it be bought separately and not as a full assembly, which is very expensive. I found out from Lexus this part is only $35 and the whole assembly is well over $1000. Any help here would be great thanks!
Most people will go to a Wrecking Yard to get the USED PART they need.

There is a removable radiator support brace at the top. There are 4 nuts that hold it on. One of them also holds the battery retainer on so you need to remove that as well. You also need to remove the coolant recovery bottle transfer hose from the brace. It is sometimes a good idea to remove the fans too as they are close to the rad and they can damage the rad if you touch the fans.If I forgot something just post me back..

No, you just remove the radiator grill and the side marker light and the headlight housing bolts and it comes out. Not a real hard job and is Real straight forward. Good luck and have a good day.

Your key has a programable security micro chip inside it. It is either and embedded chip or a transferable one in a **** shell type key.
Some dealers may have generic blanks and cut them to code with a laser cutter. If it is a **** shell type key with touch pad buttons, they simply reinstall the touch pad when equipped. If not the new key must be programmed to the cars security system
There are online sites on ebay, including one in Florida who gaurantees his work and genuine parts, but I would strongly recommend against a generic key online.
