Where is the "main fuse" on a 2003 Ford Escort ZX2? It's supposed to be on the wire from the alternator to the battery, but I can't find it.

There should be a small black box within the battery cable from the alternator. It is usually near the alternator bolted to a bracket on the engine. Open the little box and you will find a fusible link.

I have a 2002 Ford Escort zx2 I replace the battery 3 days ago and my radio will still not turn on... any suggestions??

Check the radio fuse in the fuse box. Maybe its blown, otherwise it may be a failure of wiring or the radio itself. Check the wiring before removing the radio to check the back of it. Check the wiring in the attached link:

Is there a starter fuse or relay for the 2003 ford escort zx2?

Fords typically have a starting relay and quite often its on the firewall on the side where the starter is.... Follow the battery cables the black lead should go to the body for the grounding lead.... There should be a red lead going to the alternator and another red lead heading to the relay then to the starter.... Ie the relay interrupts the battery voltage which is told to activate by the smaller ignition wires... Best of luck. Maybe go to your local auto parts store with the car's particular stats and ask them what the part looks like and they can pull the part off the shelf and give you a clue what you're looking for. Best of luck...

My ford escort zx2 serfinteen belt broke car died, pushed car to parking spot, removed belt pices, now car dose not want to start, tested battery, battery good 12.45 , turn key no power to anything

Sounds like a wire was broken by the belt somehow.
You have some fuseable links and large fuses that power the components on the car.
I would look around for a loose wire close to the belt side of the engine, and check the fuses for power.

Put battery in backwards and tried starting it. Then I put it in right but it had already fried the main fuse so to get home i just used a piece of wire. My battety died and the whole time it was running...

You may have wrecked the voltage regulator on your alternator by reverse biasing it b/c of the accidental reversal of battery leads. You say it will run for 2 minutes, well while it is running, take a real quick voltage reading on your battery. You should see 13.5 to 14 volts. If not, then your alternator is no longer charging the battery.

My escort just stoped running. No power to anything. The battery is not dead all fuses are good, evwn the ones that are under the hood .has any one have any idea what wrong with my car. Thanks

CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE ITS SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF YES.I AM LOOKING AT BAD GROUND BATTERY CABLE OR LOOSE CORRODED BATTERY CABLES.REPLACE THEM IF THEY ORIGINALS CABLES.TURN OFF RADIO FIRST BEFORE REMOVING BATTERY CABLES.IF BATTERY AND CABLES GOOD.CHECK IGNITION POWER FUSES AND ALTERNATOR FUSE.IF ALL LOOK GOOD.YOUR ALTERNATOR COULD BE BAD OR A OPEN IN IGNITION SWITCH COULD BROKE OR LOOSE WIRE IN SWITCH.

Battery indecator light on on dash

Check to make sure that there's power from the alternator to the battery on the charge-back wire. If nothing's there, then your alternator is junk and you'll have to replace it again.

Yes, All the years of the ZX2 utilize the same engine. 1998-2003 are all the same except for ECU programing and the MAF wiring. You should not have a problem.

2003 Ford ZX2 Wont Fire

Check all the large main fuses, one of these usually burns out in a reverse jump, that is most likely the problem. The fuse you need to check is fuse 1 and fuse 7 (both are maxi 40 AMP) in the the under the hood fuse box, also check fuse 9, this is the computer fuse, it is under the hood also.
