Check the battery to see if it is good. When you turn on the key you should get some activity on the dash, radio etc. If not then it could be the cables or the battery are bad. Look for corrosion on the cables and make sure they are tight. If there is corrosion remove it with a brush or something similar. Try a known good battery or jumper cables. Last but not least it could be the ignition switch that is bad.
