Unless it has high performance parts, regular unleaded should be fine. unless it starts knocking and pinging, then you will have to put a higher octane in

Regular octane 87 gasoline

87 octane--this least expensive one

If it has a lot of carbon & other problems
try 89 octane if it knocks

Replaced distributor assembly-cap and rotor on a 1977 ford f100 truck-351 windsor engine-engine turns over real good but won,t crank


Check electronic control modual located on firewall. stick test light to negative side of coil turn engine over if it doesn't flicker then chamge magnetic pickup

Manual info. doesn't match abreviations on schematic for ford 351m. Engine is 1977 carb is later model motocraft 72vv . I just want to have necessary lines correct and or plug others . which can deliver...


Vacuum advance is the primary line to have hooked up for gas mileage. hot air pickup is absolutely necessary if your in colder climate. Unhooking lines won't give better gas mileage but the above systems need to be working for good mileage.

It sounds like it could be a problem with the fuel pressure regulator. When the engine is cold, there is a cold start valve that dumps extra fuel to start a cold engine.
