Where do I locate the oil sending unit on my 98 Ford F150 5.4 Triton engine?

Screws into the base of the housing just above where the oil filter goes on. You can identify it by the wire going to it.

Does the 6.6 duramax diesel engine have a pressure relief valve that regulates the oil pressure?

it should have. It will be either part of the oil pump or a relief valve screwed into the oil galley or oil filter housing above the filter body.

Oil leaking from above the oil filter

I had this problem on my 06 G6. The oil filter housing gasgket needed to be replaced. The oild filter housing is what the oil filter screws onto, and the housing attaches to the block of the motor, and theres a gasgket inbetween the block and housing. The oil filter housing is held on with three screws, and one is extremely difficult to get to. I also had to remove the belt and unbolt the a/c compressor.

Whats the plate with two screws directly above the oil filter on a '07 6.2L in a yukon denali?

You are likely looking at the filter bypass valve and its housing. This will open and allow oil flow if the filter is plugged

Hi, My audi tt 2000 is leaking oil above the oil filter. It is at the top of the silver box like part that the oil filter screws into. It looks like a seal has broke or a gasket has broke. Any help...

The oil filter has a rubber gasket attached to the end that comes in contact with the filter housing on the engine. If the filter was screwed on with a dry gasket, or overtightened, the gasket could be damaged and leaking. It could be the filter is not tightened enough.

Looks like the oil is leaking out right above the

oil filter screws onto an adapter housing which also has the pressure sending unit on it (above oil filter). This adapter housing bolts to the block with 3 bolts. if oil appears to be leaking from where the adapter housing meets the block (especially at the rear side of engine near bottom), then you need to replace the siamese o-rings between the adapter housing and the block ($12 part at dealer). remove lowest 12mm bolt and loosen top 2 12 mm bolts(top 2 bolts won't come out unless you drop the engine down, but loosening 1 inch is all you need), replace o-rings and retighten bolts. be careful not to get dirt/grit between block and adapter. just finished doing this to son's 95 2.7 v6 which was leaving an 8" puddle of oil after idling for only 1 minute-worked perfect

is the filter tight? not clear about the Junction you are referring to. The filter screws directly into the engine block.

Oil leaks from the oil filter adapter

If it is not the suggested gasket that is leaking then it is the oil pressure switch located exactly above the oil filter adapter. The black plastic housing could have developed a crack and oil will ooze downward and drip off the bottom of the adapter. I had this problem and changing the oil pressure switch took care of it.

remove the hoses from the top side of the engine first its a lot easier, then replace the seals on the cooler, its not a nice job even on a ramp
