We also replaced the thermostat and water pump that was a job on itself. The guy I had working on it jumped the timing by one tooth, so now I have to have it all taken apart and rebuilt right?

SOURCE: when it rains, car sputters and check eng. light

Frequently high humidity or rainy weather can cause poor performance, usually because of a problem in the ignition system. Moisture and condensation may be forming iaround or in the coil packs. Also, the ignition (suppression) wires may be old and arcing from one cable to another, causing timing issues and misfire problems. That problem is aggravated by moisture and humidity. Look for old or loose plug wires loose plugs, etc.Look for ways to dsplace water in these ares. Sometimes there isn't anything to be done and it will cure itself after warmup.
Hope it helps

SOURCE: just changed spark plugs, around

Hi, I recommend you get a free scan at your local parts chain and write down the trouble code. I suspect you have a bad crankshaft sensor, but the scan will confirm. Send us the trouble code if you would like further assistance, and thanks for using FixYa.

If your truck has spark plug wires, you will want to change those as well, as a bad wire can cause an ignition coil to short itself out internally.

When i start my 2001 kia optima my car putters. i changed my bad o2 sensors. but not sure what the problem is. and when i drive sometimes it jerks. what could the problem be

The spark and fuel system needs to be inspected.--------- The spark plugs are getting fouled or very loose, can cause sputtering problem.Inspect the spark plugs and coil packs. The spark plugs gets power from coil pack.If the spark plugs are very old and dirty, then it needs to be replaced.--------------- The **** problem also relates to faulty worn out spark plugs or clogged fuel filter or low fuel pressure or problem with ignition coil pack.----------- When coil pack stops giving power to spark plug the car will **** while driving.---------- So very first thing you get tested is spark plugs and ignition coil packs. If they are tested good, but looks very dirty/ worn out, that can also be the reason.----------- But if spark plugs and ignition coil tested ok and cleaned properly, but still same problem, then get fuel pressure tested. If fuel pressure is low, the fuel pump and fuel filter are the cause of problem.----------- ------------------ Also one more thing, " IS there check engine light coming ON dash" ? If yes, then get the car scanned at autozone service center. Its absolutely free to get car scanned at autozone. They do it for no charge.------- In scanning you will get error codes, as per error codes, it will point towards faulty part, causing this sputtering and jerking problem.----------------- But if there is no check engine light ion dash, then get the above mentioned possibilities checked. That will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The difference in plugs would not make it misfire . Is the check engine light on ? Most times when it is fuel system related it will not throw a code . I have installed new plugs that have been dropped and misfired but this is something that you will have to diagnose if it's one cylinder or multiple misfires. Please let me know if i can be of any help.

A flashing light is BAD. Its damaging the cat converter. I would check or replace the spark plug wires ( if all OK, then) replace the coil pack. I would not replace anything unless they test bad. but these car are known for bad coil packs.

2004 Dodge Caravan Engine Codes are 300 and 302

Which codes are you getting? Did you change the wires? They tend to fail quickly. Also check to make sure you are getting a good strong constant spark to all plugs. If not, coil pack or module may be faulty. Also check your fuel pressure
