The most common reason for the symptom you describe is one of two things. First of all change the fuel filter, then add a couple of bottles of dry gas to the fuel tank. This should solve your problem.

The "Best" size, is what the factory installs originally. The car is engineered to work a specific way. There are many other sizes that will fit, each has it's own reasons for being designed the way they are.

SOURCE: over flowing the secondary jet of my carburator.my

Hi Vidsha, How do you know the secondary jet is over flowing? Your carb has two chokes or venturie....You'll see both when looking from the top of the unit....Do you mean that fuel is flooding from one of these?
If so the most likely cause will be found in the float chamber of the carb and this will mean stripping it....If no-one has tampered with it before, the float level setting will most likely not have moved, which means that in all likelyhood there's dirt causing the needle not to close against the seat correctly....I think before we go further, do you want to get into disassemling the carb, or would you prefer to take it to a shop....If you decide to go ahead youl need a carburator repair kit, which will be specific to your carb....Its a lot of work and you'll need to set up the carb properly afterwards....Re adjusting it and so on....Let me know what you decide....Regards Johngee

SOURCE: my vechicle is taking to

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Does your corolla still runs on carburetor? If it is then it's a common problem. The carburetor's jet spits too much fuel when worn out. I strongly suggest that you get a carburetor kit and replace the jet and seals to resolve the problem.

Fuel consumption will surely be good after the procedure.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Hi, you may have a burned exhaust valve. Recommend you run a compression test.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6715318-causes_gasoline_engine_misfires . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

You have soaked all your electrical. All you can do is get an air hose and try to blow everything off as well as you can. Take apart what you can, and blow it out. If it doesn't go, you'll just have to wait.

yes we need to know if it's carburated or f.i. it'll help out a bunch, anyways, either way the easiest thing to get you started would be to check the fuel filter make sure it's not clogged up, check your fuel lines as well. if that doesn't, clean the intake jets.
