the latter is by engine sizes, not stated.
water sending, ? the ECT? eng. coolant temp.?
no symptoms posted, but im to assume the scan tool shows
low ECT readings and the dash cluster engine temp are both low?>
if both are low, then the engine thermostat is bad. 99 out of 100.
next time post symptoms we can be on same page.
i guess you know where the ECT is? and wanted to know out to
remove it?
sigh
2.4 liter , face engine at 5pm on right cam, is ECT

In the 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche, the horn is located behind the front grille on the driver's side of the vehicle.
To access the horn, you'll need to remove the front grille. Here are the general steps to removing the front grille:
1. Open the hood of the vehicle and locate the clips that secure the top of the grille in place. 2. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry up on the clips and release them. 3. Locate the bolts or screws that secure the bottom portion of the grille to the vehicle's frame. 4. Use a wrench or socket set to remove these bolts or screws. 5. Once all the fasteners have been removed, gently pull the grille away from the vehicle.
With the grille removed, you should be able to access the horn and inspect it for any damage or issues. If you need to replace the horn, you can do so by disconnecting the wiring harness and removing the mounting bolts that hold it in place.
Hi Timothy.
just found this but not sure if it will help you out but tru this link.

Sometimes they can be hidden behind something else or they are hooked up underneath the front of the vehicle somewhere near the radiator. SAFELY get under the front of the vehicle and look up. Horn units are small enough to be put anywhere. It also might be easier to remove the grill to get a better view of where it could be.
there are 6 bolts that remove the entire front grill assembly hradlights and all the bolts are located on each side of the seam where the fender meet the front grill once removed the water pump and all are easy to get to it is all open and easy to work on
you might need to move the air filter box to do this.
The bulb and its wiring is on the back of the headlight. Twist the clip to remove it from the headlamp housing, pull the bulb out and replace it, then reinstall the bulb into the housing. If you need to replace the whole headlight and not just bulb you'll need to remove the grille by unscrewing 4 screws on the top side of the grill Rotate the grill toward the front to release from the clips holding it in place. There are 2 screws on the inboard area of the headlamp. Remove these two screws and the lamp will come out. Now you can replace the lamps or the unit.
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove the four plastic push-in fasteners that secure the upper radiator seal to the grille support and both fender ledges. Remove the two plastic push-pin rivets that secure the upper radiator seal to the radiator. Remove the upper radiator seal from the vehicle.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the grille from the front of the vehicle to service the front lamp units. The illustration shows the grille removed only to assist in clearly identifying the locations of the front lamp unit mounting provisions.
Remove the screw that secures the upper mounting tab of the front lamp unit to the Front End Module (FEM) carrier (also known as the radiator closure). Using a socket with a magnetic insert or with a small piece of butyl tape inserted, reach down between the grille and the FEM carrier to access, remove and retrieve the screw that secures the lower mounting tab of the front lamp unit. Remove the fastener that secures the tab at the bottom of the access panel to the front of the front wheel house splash shield.
NOTE: The illustration shows the back of right front lamp unit and slide lock with the slide lock in the locked position.
Reach through the access opening of the wheel house splash shield and lift the slide lock upward far enough to disengage it from the lock post integral to the back of the front lamp unit housing.
From the front of the vehicle, grasp the outboard edge of the front lamp unit firmly and pull it straight forward to disengage the ball stud from the plastic grommet in the FEM carrier. Pull the lamp away from the front of the vehicle far enough to access and disconnect the two wire harness connections from the park/turn signal bulb socket and either the headlamp bulb on vehicles with dual headlamps, or from the headlamp pigtail wire harness on vehicles with quad headlamps. Remove the front lamp unit from the vehicle.
Firmly grasp the headlamp bulb in the reflector through the opening on the back of the front lamp unit housing and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it. Pull the bulb straight out from the keyed opening in the reflector.
Reverse order to install
Raise the vehicle and support safely. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly and lower fender shield.
Remove the water pump pulley.
Remove the 5 mounting screws and remove the pump from the engine.
Discard the O-ring.
To install:
Using a new O-ring, install the pump to the engine. Tighten the mounting bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
Install the water pump pulley.
Install the fender shield and tire and wheel assembly. Lower the vehicle.
Install the serpentine belt.
Remove the engine temperature sending unit. Fill the radiator with coolant until the coolant comes out the sending unit hole. Install the sending unit and continue to fill the radiator.
Connect the negative battery cable, run the vehicle until the thermostat opens, fill the radiator completely and check for leaks.
Once the vehicle has cooled, recheck the coolant level.
REMOVAL NOTE: Some moisture accumulation inside a vented headlamp unit is normal. Moisture will vent from tubes or vents located on the back of the unit. This normal condition will appear as a fogging on the inside of the headlamp lens (similar to the fog that sometimes appears on the inside of the windshield). This moisture may be removed by activating the headlamps on high beam for 15 minutes.
If water droplets larger than 1 mm in size have accumulated on the inside of the headlamp lens, the headlamp unit should be replaced.
CONCORDE/300M Release hood latch and open hood. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative remote cable. Remove the one bolt retaining the washer bottle filler neck and move aside. Remove the two bolts retaining the speed control servo and move aside. Remove fasteners to upper radiator crossmember: Two jack screws on each side. Three crossmember retaining bolts on each side. Three push pin fasteners across top of grille. Gently pry back grille and remove the two bolts to front crossmember. This will allow you to move the crossmember forward, pivoting at the radiator grille, to access the headlamp unit. NOTE: Once the crossmember is loose, take care not to scratch the fenders.
Maneuver the headlamp unit to remove from behind fascia. Gentle prying of fascia may be needed to clear it enough to remove the headlamp unit. Disconnect the lamp connectors and transfer lamps if replacing unit. INTREPID Release hood latch and open hood. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove jackscrews attaching headlamp to body (Headlamp Housing – Intrepid). Remove headlamp from body. Disconnect wire connector from headlamp and parking, side marker, and turn signal lamps. Remove headlamp housing from vehicle
Usually on most vehicles the coolant temperature sensor sends info to the ecm which then determines when to turn your fan on and off, when you turn the car off the fan may continue to run until the engine reaches a cooler temperature, if the front radiator grill is'nt getting proper air flow to cool the coolant down check the radiator grill for damage or debris build up, if the car has problems over heating check the entire cooling system.
I have the same vehicle and just went through this. The best way to get to those side marker bulbs is to loosen or remove the front grille. There are several screws to remove this grille. I removed the top screws (hood opened you'll see them) and simply loosened the lower and center section screws. This enables you to pull the grille out far enough from the main headlight area, where you can then access the side marker bulb outlet.
