The most likely issue is that the little splines on the wiper arm are stripped, so you could probably lift the cover and snug the nut a bit to make it work again.

If the splines are completely gone (usually in the arm) you can replace the arm with a junk yard replacement, or in a pinch, use a small piece of aluminum foil over the shaft and then stick the arm back on and snug the nut.

It could also be that the arm from the motor to that arm has come undone, so you open the hood and remove the black plastic cover over the wiper shafts and reattach it.

TIGHTEN THE NUT HOLDING THE ARM TO THE CAR when its loose the wiper just sits in off position. do so by lifting the hood because its the best way to access the nut, then use the proper wrench size, mine does this all the time so i carry the wrench in the car, hope this works, let me know.

SOURCE: 1987 Volvo wiper cable came off egg shaped pulley on driver side.

And you thought pulling the heater box was bad. I think you're going to need to loosen the arm at the motor to gain some room to allow the cable to be put back on.

SOURCE: wipers not working on 1995 volva 960 motor and windshield

Ensure you check the actual wiper fuse (15A). If OK then pull plug out of wiper motor and run separate power to hot terminal, if it works then wiring to switch or switch is faulty, if it doesnt work then motor needs removal for O/H.

How do you remove the windshield wiper arm on a 1995 Dodge Dakota?thank you

there are 2 ways to tackle this! your local auto supply store has a tool for this its made by k.d tools or you can use a large flat bitted screw driver and a 1 inch piece of wood ,place the wood nex tto the wiper arm put a rag under it not to scratch your paint now lift your wiper arm up as you would to change the blade, put the blade of the screw driver under the edge of the arm at the cowl end and using the wood as a fulcrum gently pry up the arm , you may have to do this on both sides to get it to pop off!

Passenger wiper blade not always working. was frozen when turned wipers on. what do I have to take apart to work on

there should be a plastic cover over the lower part of the wiper arm where it attatches to the wiper post. Under that cover there will be a 15 or 13 mm nut. Tighten up the nut and the wiper should again work with the drivers side.

If this happens to many times the splines in the wiper arm will wear out and the arm will need to be replaced. You can avoid this by clearing your windshield of snow and ice before turning on the wipers.

Wiper arm goes off of the windshield when it is raining

Sounds like you just nee to remove them and reinstall them in the correct position. Take them off, run the wipers for one cycle until they park. Install the arms so the blade is about an inch above the bottom of the windshield.
