Your car accelerates by its self when you brake? Sounds possessed. Definitely not safe. If you did not hit both pedal by mistake then I would check the throttle cable. If you don't find the problem I would suggest finding a mechanic who could diagnose it for a reasonable price

SOURCE: key stuck in ignition

There a several recalls that deal with this problem, it seems that due to a defective part in the ignition interlock system at times the key not be removed from the ignition, it appears the issue is corrected by installing a new lock cylinder, to read the full text of recalls on this issue go to link listed below.

SOURCE: Transmission shudder

I had a similar problem on my 93 Accord after I accidentally threw the car in reverse at 50 mph, obviously wrecking the transmission. When I got it rebuilt I was told the transmission pump was to blame (clogged with "shrapnel"). I, and your car manual, recommend taking the car in to get the tranny looked at. Especially considering you just had the fluid changed which is what would normally cause the problems you are describing.

2005 Ford Five Hundred. Once the car warms up and you try to come to stop without putting in neutral the car just revs high but won't move.

Question edited into written English.
Question moved to model category.

It sounds like you have and unusual and flawed driving technique.

Manual or Automatic?

Automatic. You never use neutral unless you are in a car wash that drags your car by the wheels. Decelerate, foot on the brake and into Park. Your right foot does both brake and accelerator, left foot does nothing. I saw a lady 2 days ago with left foot on the brake and right foot on the accelerator.

Manual. Downshift through the gears, right foot on the brake, left foot on the clutch and into neutral and hand brake on.

If you are doing that, the vehicle needs diagnosis why it is happening.

How does the engine run otherwise? Any stumbling on acceleration? Any check engine lights on?

When the engine is racing, does it stay at a steady RPM or does it flucuate up and down the RPM range?

I have a 1994 Honda Accord 4 door v6. I have rough idle when in drive and smooth idle when in neutral. Also rough take offs from a stop or slow speeds. If I pump the gas pedal a few time the rough take...

  • does the engine miss? bumps is a rythmic pattern?
  • an engine miss will appear to diminish at higher rpm due to centrifical force.
  • other possible problem broken or flat motor mount.
  • is the idle rough in reverse?
  • if not
  • open hood
  • start engine
  • Left foot on brake (hard)
  • start engine
  • watch engine as you select drive
  • still holding brake with left foot / throttle gas with right foot
  • does engine dramatically move?
  • if so replace motor mount on offending side
  • if not possible engine miss or transmission problems

1992 honda accord ex starts to accelerate on its own at about 40- 50 mph what could be the problem?

Check your engine mounts to make sure they haven't failed. The torque of the engine can, during acceleration, can cause the motor to twist slightly if the motor mount(s) are bad, causing the gas pedal linkage to move, increasing acceleration.

Honda accord 2003 car disengage the automatic gear at zero speed

Is there an engine light?

Assuming there are no engine codes set

1. Do the idle learn procedure
2. Check fuel pressure (380 to 430 KPa)
3. Check idle speed (740 to 840RPM in P or N)
4. Check the brake pedal position switch (requires a scan tool)

If these all check out, look for air intake leaks, faulty harness and sensor connections.

As you can see, these steps should probably be done at a dealer.

Please My Honda Accord 2003 model jerks and also do viberates

It sounds like something is loose...That may be causing your vibrating problems with the engine. You need to life the hood and grab anything that should be bolted down grab it and gently but firmly pull on it. If it moves then you will see it right then and there. Or it can be on the inside of the motor also. The jerking can be from bad fuel....
