Where is the fuse box for the brake lights on a 1999 cadillac seville sls

I believe the fuse for the stoplamps on your vehicle is in the fuse box located under the rear seat on the drivers side. The seat cushion must be removed to access this box. To do that, pull up on the front of the cushion to release the front hooks, then pull the cushion up and out towards the front. The fuse box should be under.

The fuse for the stoplamps is fuse 19, circled in red. Check this with the diagram that should be in the fuse box.

If you want to replace the fuse, use a fuse with the same amp rating. Your car has a second fuse box under the hood, in the engine compartment between the windshield washer fluid and the power steering fluid on the passenger side. It should be a black box similar to the one under the seat. In this box, there are five spare fuses you can use, as well as a fuse puller making it easier to remove fuses. The spare fuses are fuses 48-52, and the fuse puller is located in slot 53.

Take a spare fuse from under the hood that matches the amp rating of the brake fuse you are removing, and insert the new fuse into the fuse box under the seat.

To replace the cushion, slide the rear of the cushion up under the seatback so it hooks unto the wire loops on the back frame, then push backwards and down until the spring locks on both sides lock. Make sure none of the seat belts gets twisted into the cushion.

Check to make sure all systems, including the brake lights, are working properly.

Central locking not working

Check "back up" fuse in under hood fuse box.

If that doesn't work there are some more fuses under the kick panel inside the car. Whenever something isn't working for me electrically, I've usually shorted out a fuse in there. I've never figured out which fuse does what but i just keep checking until i've found a burnt one.

The fuses rating is marked on the top face you will see when cover removed(it is either 10 or 15 amps) replace it with whatever was in place to start with, never larger.

The fuse pulls straight up and out. There are spare fuses in both the under-hood and under-dash fuse boxes.

Hope this helps.

Trying to locate the fuse box as the cigarette lighter is not working

The main fuse box is under the hood in the front left of the engine compartment beneath a roughly 14"x3" black plastic cover, right againt the outside edge of the engine compartment, you can't miss it . You can inspect each fuse by pulling out to see if any have blown. There is space for 3 spare fuses which may hold spare fuses. There is another fuse box, called the "instrument panel fuse box." It is located inside the car, forward of the driver's left knee, behind the coin drawer that sits to the left of the steering column. Just pull out the drawer and you'll see the fuse block. There's a chart on the back of the drawer, in addition to the charts that can be found for both fuse boxes in the rear of the owner's manual.

Windows will not go up or down. cannot find fuse.

it is located under the spare compartment above the hood release. You simply pull off the compartment unit and the fuse box is inside. You should find your spare fuses and your fuse pull tool. To install the compartment unit again just set the bottom part on the lip and close it, you'll hear a metal click and you are good.
