98 windstar air ride compressor location

I have a new relay to put on the compressor. Just bought this van and was told this is what was wrong with suspension. I can not find where the compressor is though.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Windstar AC compressor

They get more than warm, but not excessively hot that you can't touch it. This can be caused by a faulty condenser fan motor, dirty condenser coil even low freon, which is my guess along with a dirty condenser. Check these two issues and if it's not the problem your compressor may be getting ready to die. because of internal issues with the motor windings. Make sure the fan is running to speed, clean the condenser and see if the larger copper pipe to the compressor is ice cold and sweaty, if not you may need freon

SOURCE: Air Suspension plomlem

1. make sure the switch is on (under the passenger side dash board). 2. check to make sure the relay is good (black little box under the right front bumper. 3. there are two (that I know of) switches/sensors.  1 is behind the left front tire.  The other is up behind the spare tire.  Taking the spare tire off gives you tons of room to work with.  The sensors look like mini shock absorbers with black rubber and can be compressed and pulled easily by hand.  Moving those will simulate the suspension going up and down and should trigger the compressor. 4. if the compressor doesn't come on (and all the above is fine) it sounds like your compressor is bad and should be replaced.  I got one from Arnott Industries in Florida and they have been very nice to work with so far.

SOURCE: my air suspension compressor is

It sounds to me like your compressor got killed. What probably happened is that the airbag got a hole or tiny crack in it so the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag killed the compressor. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. I added the link below so you can check it out.

SOURCE: Air Ride Suspension Issues for a 1999 For Expedition 5.4L

I just experience problem with a leak in one of the bags in the back n because i didn’t have the money then to take care of the problem my air compressor burned. I just recently changed the bag and I found it at this website for $160 and the compressor is $210 + shipping. They r a manufactor so what they do they sell u refurnish parts that r as good as new and cheap. U purchase the item and sent them the broken item back n they give u a credit of $50. I made both purchase an air bag n the compressor n so far everything is working fine. The air bag is super easy to change but the air compressor its a little more complicated. The website is http://www.suncoreindustries.com/ and they even sent u the instructions on how to do it urself. Hope this was helpful!

Where is the compressor and compressor relay for the air suspension?

If it gives you fits,an aftermarket set of struts is available to eliminate the need for air suspension.

I did that on a Lincoln and a Taurus. They are designed to last as long as the warrantee. Sorry.

Most customers end up switching over to conventional springs.

Can't find the relay switch location for air ride rear suspension for my 1993 buick riviera?

Did you check the fuse? Not only check the fuse, check voltage on fuse circuit , goes hot with key on. The bottom info should be for relay center location.

I HAVE A 1998 WINDSTAR I NEED TO KNOW WHAT AMPS THE RELAY FUSES ARE MY PROBLEM IS I HAD SOMEONE CHECK THE FUSES BECAUSE MY WINDOWS AND WIPERS WOULDNT WORK THE WAS A RELAY FUSE MISSING THE PERSON WHO...

The relays are pretty fool proof--not like fuses where they have different amperages. Switching fuses or relays will not drain the battery. OK, so you have a new battery and alternator, right? And the car is not starting? And you think it's because the battery has drained? Is anything else not working right now? I can send you some troubleshooting steps, but I want to be clear on what the current circumstances are.

Suspension - back suspension makes car look like low rider

Number one reason the rear sags in a air suspension expedition is because of a 5 dollar or so relay. Their is a TSB addressing this issue with the relay being the fix

Number 2 reason is the compressor is bad.

Can a 96 Ford Windstar Air Conditioner Compressor Pump Fit in a 98 Windstar?

The compressor is the same but it may have a different pulley and the plug may be indexed on the wrong side. If you have a set of snap ring pliers you can put your coil and pulley on that compressor or it may already be the same ones just make sure you put the plug where it is on your original compressor.
