Did you change the fuel filter also????, check the entire fuel lines for kinks/binds, rewire the inertia switch to operate correctly (safety Item)....borrow or buy a fuel pressure tester and check for pressure (32-40 psi), also for VOLUME of fuel....GL

1998 ford ranger 2.5L manual trans. 4x2... i have power to inertia switch but not to fuel pump. help please

Can you reset the internia switch? Use a proper jumper wire and bypass the inertia switch, engine cranking. If the pump runs, maybe the inertia switch is faulty? jump the dark green wire with yellow tracer to pink wire with black tracer to see if pump will run. Just my opinion.

Im assuming the fuel pump is working and inertia switch, fuel filter, and fuel pump relay are good, check the ignition switch, if its worn/broke and not making good enough contact.

1990 ford bronco-fuel pump does not turn on with key. pump works when connected to an outside 12 v source. How do I troubleshoot wiring?

Hello! Either the fuel pump relay isn't pulling or the inertia switch needs to be reset...The relay is is under the shield at the air cleaner support bracket...Yellow wire is power feed from fuse link "W"...+12 volts must be present on the Brown wire that exits the relay...From there the Brown wire goes to one side of the Inertia switch and exits the switch on a Red/Yellow wire...With the key on +12 volts must be on that Red/Yellow wire...Inertia switch is located on the drivers side floor board, to the left and above where the steering column passes through the floor board...

1992 Ford E350 w/ 5.8 L cranks but no start,at 360K miles Any thoughts or any previous experiences with these old vehicles, I checked the fuel pump relay it works, and have spark but not sure where to look...

Inertia switch is located Under right side of dash, on heater plenum. Do you hear the fuel pump turn on when turning ignition on? you can hear pump by opening fuel door and put ear against while having someone turn ignition on, another test would be to install a fuel pressure gauge on scradder valve and reading fuel pressure - recommended

Fuel reset light comes on

I was not aware of the dash light that said this...but doing some web research I found this info:
some of the models did come with an inertia switch if you have it on your truck then it will be drivers side floor board against the firewall it will be the red button
and this
The Inertia Fuel Cut-Off Switch is a relay of sorts. This little relay is in your car to save your life from fire by shutting off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. It cuts the power to the fuel pumps when a predetermined force is applied. Just like a circuit breaker the red button pops up when it is tripped. It consists of a steel ball held in place by a magnet. When a sharp impact occurs, the ball breaks loose from the magnet, rolls up and strikes a target which opens the electrical contacts of the switch and shuts off the electric fuel pump. It must be mounted straight up to work correctly. On some vehicles a fuel reset light will illuminate on the dash.

I gotta floor my 1992 bronco 5.0l to crank it

white smoke? Thats an indication of water getting into cylinders. May have a small head gsket leak. Metals expand when heated which explains why it stops smoking after warming up. Have some one pressurize the cooling system when engine is cold, and search or listen for leaks. Pressure gauge on tester will drop in pressure if leak is present.

Cant find fuel pump relay on an 1987 bronco 2

The fuel pump relay should be at the pass. fender well. It may be under a cover that holds 3 relays together. Usually it has a green plug on it. Also check the inertia (crash) switch. It's located at the upper part of the pass. side floor inside the car. It'll be under the carpet midway up the firewall. Make sure it hasn't gotten tripped.
