Do you feel a misfire?? Random misfires are usually caused by a lean fuel mixture, the reasons that cause this a to many to list here.

  1. P0171: This means that the oxygen sensor has detected a lean air-fuel ratio. This can be caused due to a vaccuum leak or a problem in the HO2S circuit or the HO2S (Heated Oxygen Sensor) itself. (Bank one Sensor one). This is commonly located along the exhaust pipe. It could also be a bad Mass Air Flow sensor or a bad Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. Diagnostic checks will be needed to be carried out to be verified though
  2. Well as for the other codes, it means #3&4 cylinders are misfiring. It is a possibility that the P0171 code mite have caused the others to show up. I can be wrong though. But it is a strong possibility. If the air fuel mixtue is too lean indeed, mis-firing will occur, unless it is an actual electronic and not a mechnical problem. By the way, when these codes appear, how is the engine's performance. Does it remain the same or behaves poorly?

Spake pluge could have gone bad, or the Spark Plug wire. Try changing all your plugs and wire and inspect the old one's. The wire could be bad do to time or may have been against the exhaust manifold and brunt. Good luck

P0171 indicates a lean condition. The most common cause of this is a defective mass air flow sensor. Also check if any vacuum leaks.Replace MAf sensor,if cleaning the MAF does not help.

P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

Symptoms may include:
* the engine may be harder to start
* the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty spark plugs or wires
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector(s)
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
* Faulty camshaft position sensor
* Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
* If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

* If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.


About the your previous code (P0301), this code will trigger the check engine light as follows:

The misfire detection monitor, a software strategy built into the computer, is designed to detect an engine misfire. The computer can also normally identify the specific cylinder in which the misfire has occurred. A misfire is nothing more than a lack of combustion, which can be caused by poor fuel quality or metering, low compression, lack of spark or unmetered air entering the engine. There are other possible, less obvious causes as well, such as uncommanded Exhaust Gas Recirculatin (EGR), flow. When the misfire monitor detects a misfire, it will trigger the check engine light with the specific cylinder number as the last digit in the P030X code. For instance cylinder 1 misfire is P0301, cylinder 2 is P0302 etc.

Possible Causes:
Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
Incorrect Fuel Pressure
EGR system concerns: leaking EGR valve or restricted ports.
Base engine concerns: low compression, valve train problems and timing issues
Ignition system concerns including, but not limited to:
Faulty spark plugs
Faulty coil or related wiring
Ignition module or related wiring issues
Ignition related sensor faults or wiring issues

Diagnostic Help:
Begin by checking for proper fuel and ignition system operation, and then follow up with the less likely causes listed above, such as EGR and EVAP system problems. New style coil on plug applications have a high failure rate, and can be concluded faulty by swapping to another cylinder and checking to see if the misfire moves to that cylinder. This is a quick check if a capable scan tool or oscilloscope is not available. Always make sure the basic maintenance is done first and that things such as the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs and spark plug wires are in good working order, as these are all possible candidates for a problem. code p 0300 determines misfire causes as the following=== causes --engine mechanical fault ---wiring---ignition/ fuel system---injector ---ECT/MAF sensor--- ECM
You have two areas to check
one is the MAF sensor as it will cause erratic idling and second the injector or HT leads to a plug
If you run the fault codes you will get a p 0301or 2 or3 or 4 code and that is the cylinder number that is misfiring--code p 0300 is random /multiple misfires and the causes are the same including low fuel pressure and low compression

P 0300 multiple misfire delected gmc 2007

it could be bad spark plugs, plug caps/wires, coil, fuel injector.. you will have to find out what is causing the misfire and repair. this code tells you that the misfire is not isolated to a single cylinder.

if its a multiple missfire then i would suspect your fuel pressure is dropping or your regulator has failed and is sucking too much fuel causing the computer to overcompensate, these engines are also known for intake leaks

01 3.9l ram 1500 wont start p0300, p0301, p0303, p0306, p0340, p0455 showing

all the 300's are multiple misfire (300) 301 is misfire at cyl#1, 303 is cyl#3, etc. 340, is camshaft position sensor malfunction, and 455 is a Leak in your evaporative emission control system, Fairly large one.

Check all your vacuum lines running through it, as well as gas cap is good.
My guess is to, that once Camshaft sensor is replaced, all those misfires will be gone as well.
