2000 kia sephia, it has a headlight dimming problem and at the same time the tail lights wont come on till you turn off the lights or hit the brake pedal.

Look in the fuel pump/filter area?

It depends a/c or not any parts store will be able to tell you that

Check the bulbs the are double filament you either have a bad bulb or possible socket issue.

sounds like you got a bad wire or the wiring harness itself has nicks in it check the wiring for you back brakes first though cause the wiring harness is a little more tricky.

You may have a short circuit somewhere in the brake light wiring. Possibly at the stop lights between them and the tail lights.

As a first course of action, please check the bulbs for it can be blown. If the bulbs are good then it can be just a blown fuse for the tail light.

This sounds like a fuse problem. Check all your fuses. If they are the little plug in blade type, you will need to pull the fuse out and check the metal tab in the middle. You can pick up a test light for a few dollars at an automotive store. If you connect the light across the fuse (most of these have a little bit of metal exposed at the very top) and the light lights, then the fuse is bad. This test works because the fuse has zero resistance and therefore zero volts across it to power the light. If the fuse is bad, then there is 12volts across the fuse and the light lites.

Check the fuse for brake lights it may be burned out. replace it

unhook the battery and hit the brakes turn the key over. take the keys out and hook the battery back up
