The air conditioner was working, but after a short stop and after starting the engine up again, I only got hot air blowing out of the vents. The rear air unit showed ''Power Off'' when I tried to see if it was working in the rear. Help! BobJ

There are 2 problems:
1-
To keep the AC on there are a lots of feed back to Engine control unit from: Refrigerant press, Engine temp sensor, Evaporator Temp sensor, Cabin Temperature sensor, Compressor Speed sensor, Engine Speed Sensor. All of these need to be in the spec range for the Compressor clutch to engage then AC could function properly.

2-
The hot air blowing out since your blower is still working, but divert valve problem: The divert Flap vent instead of directing air through the evaporator path, It is directing the air through the heater core.
Unless you have equipment to check all of that and time consuming, you might want to have a hsop to estimate first ro pay an diagnostice and decide to fix later after decide the problem could be tackled by your expertise. I'd check back to see how your progress on this matter. Good luck in good findings.

Why when I start my car is there an odor coming from vents that smells like something is burning, and my Air Conditioner still blows, but it only blows out hot air. 2008 Chrysler Sebring. Help?

have an accredited ac shop as an ac cannot produce hot air only cold air so that means that the ac is not working (leaks low on gas etc). The hot air is from the heater in the car and the smell is probably wire overheating or the resistors are burning.

Car heater blowing cold air and rubber burnning

If your heater is spraying a light mist through your vents it could be your heater coil. Mine did the same thing, smell rubber burning, then started a light mist through the vents. If you don't get that checked out, it could mess up your water pump and possibly your engine

1998 Blazer A/C blows hot air. When I turn on the air conditioner it does not click. However, hot air still comes out of the vents instead of cold.

You need to recharge your a/C in the short term to get it going again. An auto parts can sell you a recharge kit for something like $30-50. if it stops working again your a/C system had a leak somewhere and you need to get that checked out by a shop or you can inject a uv dye and find the leak yourself.

1997 gmc rear air conditioner is blowing hot

Could be a blockage in the lines to the rear unit.
Might be low on freon too. Or a blend door problem.
Can you check under the floor and see if one of the lines is cold ?

My 2004 gmc envoy loses engine pressure when i have the air conditioner or the heater on. Also, the air conditioner will not blow out the dash vents but blows out the floor and defrost just fine. Autozone...

Don't know what you mean by engine losing pressure, but as far as the air not coming out of the correct vents, try the following;
Pull the HVAC-B (#36) fuse for 30 seconds (located in rear fuse panel, under seat), then put it back in. Then turn the ignition switch to RUN (no need to start the engine). Don't touch ANY controls for 90 seconds. I don't think it matters what position the controls are in, but some people think it works better if you have the HVAC system turned off. After 90 seconds, the actuators have gone through their paces, the controller has new memory data on the end stops of the rotation of each actuator, and you might be good to go
