Check the hose from the Reservoir to the Radiator and see if it's plugged with rust and/or scale.

Testimonial: "thanks for input but the line was clear"

The next thing to check is the radiator cap and then the head gasket. Your system must be sealed compeltely before it will draw coolant from the reservoir.

SOURCE: my car goes through so much cooliant

How many times has it got hot? You better do a cooling system pressure test. Sounds to me you got more problems than a cloged radiator. Do you see a puddle under the car? Its got to be going someware. Do the test.

SOURCE: heat only works when temp gets about 220, just

You should see heat well prior to this heat, is your coolant level exceeding low? I have seen situations where the coolant level is so low it will not get to the heater until it warms up (by warming up the coolant has expanded thus filling up the heating system more.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

Low coolent temp

Low coolant temperature is caused by the thermostat being stuck in the passing position. It usually does this when the thermostat fails. You will need to change your thermostat which isn't a big job depending on where it is located on your vehicle.

2003 sunfire 2.2 ecotec engine, fans working, hoses building pressure replaced thermostat but still over heating

Thermostat installed correctly? in backwards? low on coolent? Clogged coolent passageways, might want to flush system and refill. Too much antifreeze/not enough water will cause this also.

Dodge shadow poor heat

Possible causes include low coolent level ( I know it sounds wrong, but if the coolent level is low hot coolent won't circulate to the heater core)

The thermostat may be stuck open, if it is the engine won't reach proper operating temp. Only solution is to replace, but it is easy to do and thermostats are inexpensive.

Heater core may be plugged, this is more likely if stopleak has ever been used to stop a radiator leak. Solution would be backflushing the heater core.

The valve that controls the flow of coolent to the heater core could be stuck or defective or the vacuum switch that controls the valve might be defective.

My 1995 audi 90 wont stop overheating

It sounds like you have a head gascet fault, if the water hoses are highly presurised with back pressure when car is running and you are lousing water, creamy coloured oil then these are all symptoms.
some audi's have platic water pump fins that deteriorate too this also could be a fault,
A pressure test on the cooling system should conferm what exactily is wrong.

Coolent light and check engine light

Your thermostat will not affect the heat in your car. This is controlled by the heater core which is pulled from coolant from the engine where the coolant will be the hottest. Your thermostat opens and allows the coolant from the engine to circulate into the radiator and the coolant from the radiator flow into the engine. A thermostat is cheap and easy to replace. The sensor should be a fairly inexpensive and easy replacement as well. I would change out the sensor first because bad thermostat would create an overheating problem.
