How do you maintain the radiator of bmw 318 and where is the place to add water if needed?

the 318 is a capless reaiator, there is a jug or bottle on the fender side,it will be marked coolent you fill it to the line that says cold, never open it when the car has been running for a while ,or is hot . you could suffer severe burns
