Where is the radiator drain plug located in a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix?

There is no drain plug or valve on most modern radiators. You have to remove the lower radiator hose in order to drain them.

Radiator drain plug how do i open it to drain the radiator

You don't. You never open the petcock on radiators with plastic tanks because the petcock always breaks. If it doesn't break, it'll leak when you close it. No pro ever uses the petcock. You loosen the lower radiator hose clamp and yank the lower radiator hose. You'll take a bath, but it'll all be drained in about 1.5 mins. Then reconnect. You'll actually drain far more coolant that way too.

My Petcock /drain plug for my Oldsmobile 1995 88 royal broke off while trying to tighten it how can I fix it without buying a new Radiater ?

So if it is tight and it does not leak, leave it. Just remember you will have to remove the Radiator next time you flush it. It is a 1995, so unless it is a keepsake or show piece, then leave it.

The petcock is usually metal at that year unless it was replace.

I have a 1995 buick century. i want to flush radiator, but i couldn't located the draining valve. i need a help, if you can locate the draining valve for radiator.

Hi, if there is not a petcock or plug at the bottom of the radiator, you can just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant. Many cars do not have drain plugs. Please let me know if you have more questions and thanks for using FixYa.

How do you replace the coolant on a 1995 3.4 pontiac firebird

There is a drain on the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side of the radiator to drain the anti-freeze. Remove the radiator cap and loosen the drain plug on the radiator, spray some WD-40 on the drain valve to help get it loose. Drain the radiator, tighten back up the drain plug and refill, should be 1-11/2 gallons.

How to replace the radiator drain petcock on a 89 k2500

There common to break off, you can pick up the replacement drain plug at NAPA and buy a stud retracter to remove the drain plug. if the plug is not leaking, Leave it alone and to drain the radiator, just disconnect the lower radiator hose on the opposite side of the radiator.

Good luck and hope this helps you on your project.

How do i drain the radiator?

Usually there is a petcock in the left or right lower part of the radiator on the end tank. It will either be a 1/4 turn plug with a plastic wing nut on it, or one that has to be undone a few turns with a socket. If after looking you can't locate a drain plug it is possible there just isn't one. My 2004 Pontiac GTO has no drain plug. In which case i had to disconnect the lower radiator hose and put a huge drain pan under it hoping to catch all the coolant.
