Cost of repair on 2000 jeep for governor mid pressure malfunction repair
No symptoms stated. wow.
why post a post and not point to the object of concern?
first state what driveline you do and and what exact transmission
the 42RE? not the 45RFE?
i guess it is THAT 42 box
this box a electric governor solenoid vavle in the tranny valve body
cost to replace is 2 fold, just like all repairs.
labor + parts and profit. (and overhead of shop)
eco 101.
here is my guess at that,
2hr labor. (drop pan)
parts, Gov SOL.
part id 30>>>>???? that part?
is about $100 part. so 200 labor and $100 parts and (overhead)
in a stealership 2x that or more,. IMO

the fsm covers doing this, why not read the FSM and see all the steps.

SOURCE: Transmission problem
I had a shifting problem. The car would start in the wrong gear and shift at wrong times. I repaced the governor postion sensor and tranny fluid and the problem has been fixed for several years. Did you replace the tranny fluid?
SOURCE: OBD II Code P1756.
Could be a bad sensor, but it's transmission related. Anything affecting internal trans pressures should be taken care of by a reputable trans shop.
SOURCE: how take out in disconnecting the governor
To remove the govenor pressure sensor you have to drop the pan, remove the filter, take the torx screw out of the bracket that holds the sensor unplug the sensor and wiggle it while pulling back on it.

I have had to replace the governor on those dodge transmissions, and there is a filtering metal mesh screen around the governor inlet port that seems to always get plugged up with small metal shavings. The governor is located under the transmission pan to the rear of the main valve body.
