SOURCE: 2002 dodge dakota won't start

If the battery is charged and the starter solenoid clicks then the problem is the the starter solenoid contacts are worn out and not making a good connection, they can be replaced, here is a link to a company that sells them, they are very cheap.

SOURCE: starter/alternator problems on 1995 Dodge Dakota

The bid cable on the starter may have had another wire on it that the alternator charges the battery threw,it may not have got reconnected,or the fusible link in that wire may have burned into.Or plain and simple the alternator went out.Check these things out and remove the alternator and have it check out to see if it is working properley.

SOURCE: needing an engine diagram for dodge 2.4L engine,

Follow the red or positive battery cable and it will eventually end at the starter. There may be a solenoid in there somewhere as well, but there will always be another heavy cable like the first one leading away. Continue following that one until you get to it.

You can also check the AutoZone website as they have a fairly good repair resource for things like this.

Are 93 and 96 Dodge Dakota Sport,3.9 interchangeable

I found that 1991 through 1996 Dakota are the 1st Gen Facelift. According to Autozone the 1993 and 1996 are the same engines. If you call your local junk yard they have a 100% accurate answer.

Battery is being drainrd

have your starter tested, dodge starters tend to pull too much voltage when tey go bad, they will still start the veh, but it drains the battery, and alternator can't charge enough to compensate for the drain.therefore it will kill the alternator and battery

I need a Sterring colum for my 1987 dodge ram 50, someone tried to steal it and busted the key itinial and I need the entire sterring colum.

You can order one through the dealership(pay a small fortune) or auto body shop. If your not worried about the color, call around to the junk yards, they may have one in a truck there. You can also check on-line at auto junk yards. cheaper than the shops, color is not a option there most times. hope this helps
