sounds to me that you have an igniton problem not a starter problem and or if you have or had an alarm system could be cause if u do give me feedback and i will explain but seems that your starter is fine from what u say but if you think in terms of the elemts to start a vehicle batery gives pwoer to ignition which sends to starter which gives spark etc i would check you ignition system something is causeing a short and not alowing starter to function

If the security system has been triggered this will shut down not only your starter but also your fuel pump. the most comon cause on a passlock II system is the wiring at the ignition lock cylinder breaks causing the computer to not be able to see the resistance chip in the key. you will most likely need a new ignition lock cylinder, keep in mind that you need to have the new cylinder keyed for the original key otherwise if you use a different key the security system will see the wrong resistance and you are back to square 1. your local dealer will be able to read the resistance of your original key and get you a cylinder to match.

The problem sounds like it was the battery the whole time. Your battery can have all the volts in the world but if it does not produce enough amperage it will not turn the starter over. This sounds like a dead cell issue. To be sure, Disconnect the Negative battery terminal and connect the vehicle for jumping but put the ground cable someplace on the block. Start the vehicle and disconnect the jumper cables. If the vehicle continues running the Alternator is doing it's job and you need to replace your battery. Another way to check for a dead cell in the battery is to get a cell tester from Walmart or an auto parts store and test each cell. Also you could take the battery to the Auto Parts store and ask them to test it. They will test for charge and Load capacity.
