89 acura legend won't start

If you turn the ignition on (but not start) and see the S3 green light come on then it will start every time.

If you turn the ignition on (but not start) and you don't see the S3 green light then it will not start. It will turn over but not start.

What makes this S3 light come on (or not on) and then the car won't start???

Thanks for the insight

Bob

My 89 had a bad Main Relay located under the dash. I re-soldered the connections and put it back in and the fuel pump worked (listen for itwhen your S3 is out). There may be a bad ground causing the lights to go on and off (ECU?).

SOURCE: how to advance ignition timing on acura legend

When a car has a distributor, loosen the clamp under the distributor and turn the distributor clockwise/counter-clockwise to ge the appropriate timing. There is usually 1 bolt holding the clamp tight against the distributor. Determine which direction you need to turn with the timing light as your guide. As alway's, be careful of the moving parts!!

89 acura legend tail lights stuck on. how to fix?

Tail lights or brake lights? Most common is the brake light switch stopper breaks off so the brake light switch doesn't shut off. This is above the brake pedal. Look on the floor for small broken plastic pieces. The stopper is only a few dollars, pretty easy to pop in place.

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a relay, the ignition module, coil, fuel pump, or a list of other things.
