You have to check spark from the plug....step1 pull out one of the plug wire step2 put one spark plug into the plug wire. step3- clip the plug body with jumper cable and the other to the negative(-)terminal step4 start the car and see if there is strong spark on the tip of the plug

SOURCE: service engine light on 2002 mitsubishi galant

it could be the spark plugs, at least that is what it was for mine, if you have over 50k miles without a spark plug change i highly suggest one, also a oil /transmission change would be great for your car too if you haven't done those reciently. I would also suggest using a higher grade gas, sometimes this fixes the trick too.
If you try all those and still experiencing hard transitions please let me know and i'll try a more indepth analysis on your car.
Thanks jyotsna.

Has it overheated lately?
My wife overheated our Galant and it just stopped working, it cranks but that's it.
I pulled the sparkplugs and found them wrapped in a gewey jelly like substance. Like an oil/antifreeze combo.
I am going to replace the entire motor for $1000 as taking it to the mechanics to theorize and practice may cost more.

SOURCE: The battery keeps going dead on 1999 Mitsubishi

There is an alternator fuse located on the positive battery clamp or in the fuse block under the hood. if it is part of the positive battery clamp it is a dealer only part and will run $10 to 20 dollars. If it is in the fuse block you should be able to get one at the auto store and modify it to slide in easily. Get a flash light and check all of your fuses carefully. The blown fuse may be hard to spot. The design of the car lets the battery go dead with out even turning on the charge light on the dash to let you know you are not charging the battery.

My 2011 galant wont start its been parked but i start it every so often all interior lights n radio work tho what can it be

it maybe a battery problem like a cell going bad or its not being run long enough to fully charge the battery. it takes little voltage to run lights and radio but a lot more to start a car.

Replaced battery in 2000 mitsubishi galant no radio no a/c no interior light?

Sounds like because of the corrosion, you may have a bad connection on the power side of the battery. If you have a fuse blown it will probably be one in the underhood fuse box. You need to check for a blown box fuse if it has them.

2004 mitsubishi galant problem

I am hoping for your sake that this is the battery terminals.  Remove both terminals from the posts and check for corrosion, cola is the easiest way to remove it, (seriously!).  If not it sounds like a loose connection somewhere in the main wiring, that is what would cause the flickering.  let me know if you need more information, good luck.
