This could be from a number of sources. The best thing to do is to wet it with a water hose in different segments until you find the water entry point.

Have someone remove cowl or cover to access cabin air filter box area, and clean it out good. Build up of leaves & other debris has been known to cause leaks inside because of drainage plugged.

SOURCE: 03 impala passenge has FLOOR were it come from

pop the hood and take out the plastic shroud on the passenger side at the firewall. there is a rubber weather stripping that will direct the rain water off the wind shield other wise the rain will fall directly onto the top of the fan motor then run down onto the carpet. i noticed mine when the fan motor iced up and was about an inch thick of ice. all i did was RTV on the weather stripping to redirect the water good luck.

SOURCE: water on passenger side floor whenever it rains.

You would have a leak. I would take it to a GM dealer. Could be coming from the windshield and leaking by the firewall.

SOURCE: whenever it rains my floor on the passenger side

We see this often. There is a rubber bulb type molding (similar to a door or trunk seal) that is approximately 12" attached just above the fresh air intake that's in the firewall on the passenger side. Quite often this rubber part comes off and water is no longer diverted and instead pours directly through your cabin filter (if you have one) and into the right floorboard. To correct it, remove the right windshield wiper and right side of the lower windshield reveal molding (plastic cowling). Apply weatherstrip adhesive into the "U" shaped molding and re-apply into place directly above the cabin filter and fresh air intake. Replace the cowling and wiper. Good luck

2012 Toyota RAV4 passenger floor wet after it rains. Leak stains on left side under glove compartment. Doesn't happen every time it rains. I just bought it this summer 2023, when it wasn't raining.

Question edited for clarity, add maker.
Question moved to model category.

Based on our research the RAV4s with wet floors are usually, but not always, clogged sunroof drains or drain outlets. Other RAV4 owners found that the body trim surrounding their windshield or even the fender panel had degraded and failed, allowing water to seep in during heavy rain.

1997 Nissan Sentra when it rains water leaks in on the passenger floor somehow behind the dash Maybe

Don A has an excellent answer, but if you have a sunroof, that is more likely the reason. The pipe runs down between the door pillar and the windshield and there is often a join there which can part. Be careful with compressed air as it can blow joints apart.

you said water, well that can be clean pure water
from RAIN or HVAC evap condensate,
using AC cool or heat + defrost mode? or just pure heat mode?
I do not know what you do there
i tray to capture water,in jar,and see if it is green or yellow or pink
that is AF antifreeze,
and put my fingers in it and rub fingers to thumb and it feels very very slippery, that is AF. not water
if i sniff it and smells sweet it is AF>
(3 ways to discover AF antifreeze)
ok it's water, so dont use AC or Defrost mode.
so that be RAIN or defrost condensart

2009 Chevy HHR water in floor passenger side front and back after heavy rain car was just sitting all day not driving where did 2 inches of clear water in floor come from,

Check the cabin air intake. Chances are the weather strip that lines part of the opening has come off. The intake should be accessible beneath the trim at the base of the windshield on the passenger side.

Water Leak in Passenger Side Floor Vent Area after car wash

Unless this happens in the rain as well, I would not worry about it. Likely in the car wash, far more water is coming in than the normal drain system can handle, therefore causing it to overflow. If you do have a drain obstruction, find the drain hose (small right angle hose on firewall passenger side) and roll it in your fingers to clear it.

Wet floors on passenger side after it rains.

Is it possible the water is actually coming from the A/C evaporator case, whose DRAIN IS CLOGGED ? The water produced by the A/C then leaks out of the case, down under the carpeting, then depending how vehicle is parked, can flow to the rear floors and carpet. Hope this helps

Water coming in to front passenger floor when it rains

The heater/airconditioner box under the dash has a drain hose to allow condensation to drain when the air conditioner is running. If this hose gets plugged, rain may accumulate in this box also (if it's raining heavily), as it comes in through the fresh air intake.

Look on the engine side of the firewall, probably on the passenger side, for a hose coming through the firewall that is not connected to anything. It is usually short, has a 90 degree bend, and the open end is down. Make sure that the end of this hose is not plugged.
